ADOPTION FEE SPONSORED!!

Sweet Beyonce is searching for her forever home!

This precious pup is the sweetest little lady, approximately 7 years old, and SO loveable and friendly!!!

Beyonce gets alone very well with children. She would need a meet and greet with any current dogs in your home. Beyoncé does tend to prefer calmer more submissive dogs as her canine buddies. She is not a good candidate for a home with cats.

For more information please call the Bedford County Animal Shelter at 540-586-7690. To be preapproved to adopt, please fill out an application in the link provided https://friendsofbedfordcountyanimalshelter.rescuegroups.org

We aren’t here to be breaking hearts but do we have an amazing boy that is breaking our hearts as he sits in his kennel daily wondering why everyone who visits walks right by and doesn’t even talk or ask who he is…….. we are here to reintroduce Rocky who has had multiple post on Facebook regarding him and is currently our longest resident with no one looking to change his life…… Rocky was surrendered after his family had to move and Rocky wasn’t allowed at their new resident due to landlord…. Rocky was loved deeply by his family which made him being surrendered to the shelter so very hard on him as this was all so new to him….. Rocky struggled at first with shelter life as he thought his family would be back for him. Rocky is truly an amazing boxer mix that we believe due to his size is making those who visit continue to walk right by when passing his kennel. Rocky weighs 70+lbs and is a strong big boy! Rocky does require a home WITHOUT CATS according to his previous family as he doesn’t realize his size and plays too rough. Rocky did live with another female dog, but we suggest a meet and greet to make sure he would be happy in his new home. Rocky does walk well on leash but will pull at first due to excitement of being out of the shelter. According to Rocky’s previous family he is housebroken as he was a very spoiled indoor dog. We were also told Rocky is good with kids, but due to his size can be too much for younger/smaller kids. Rocky does know basic commands and does listen. Rocky is still young at about 2yrs old according to vet records. Rocky is truly in need of someone to help him be a happy spoiled house dog like he was prior to coming to our shelter. These last 2 months have probably been the most stressful part of this handsome boy’s life sitting behind a kennel not having the love of a family. Are you interested in changing the life of a shelter dog?? We are needing everyone to share Rocky far and wide and help this boy find the happiness he once knew with a loving family. Rocky has been neutered and is UTD on his shots. Rocky’s adoption fee is $95 cash or check. Our hours are Monday, Tuesday, Friday 10-2 and Saturday 10-3. If you can’t adopt please share this post of a shelter dog that is so deserving of love. Come by and give this boy some love or even a treat!!

We’ve been on hiatus for a while because of the outreach groups that are local and county to county. We do hope to keep up with all missing dogs and endangered dogs in the metro Richmond area. It’s another resource however we are not monitored 24 seven. We do have a great deals of experience and locating animals without any kind of payment or compensation due to the shelter work we’ve done historically and we have a great blog on how to find your dogs and the shelter systems that operate within our area.
Our number has now changed to area code 804-715-9111 and we don’t have an email address anymore because you can instant message or text us the alternative. If you cannot reach us at this number please call 2027382868 as a local number for us as well.

Rocko (2401-1503) 1 1/2 year old male Rottweiler mix, house trained, good with kids, loving, joyful, friendly.

Rocko is a 1 1/2 year old playful and active boy. Surrendered because of his behavior towards other dogs, Rocko is house trained and good with kids. When it comes to other dogs, he can be ok with some, especially those smaller than he is. He does not like cats. Rocko is big and strong and when he wants to go, he will pull you! Daily training would benefit him as he gets used to his new family and you get used to him! This friendly and joyful boy can be yours if you come out to the Virginia Beach Animal Care and Adoption Center 341 S Birdneck Rd Virginia Beach. 757-385-4444. Open daily 12-5 pm.
