Happy Spring. Days have been beautiful with the exception of what seems like constant rain. I'm a Californian so I whine about imperfect weather. Thank you again for your ongoing support. Another wonderful year of rescue, retirement, and keeping horses safe. I am so grateful to be able to continue this work.

FELIX 24-00435, 4-6 months, Pitbull Mix, male, appears to be a "Roman Nose" which could be a fungal infection or mass effect, appears to be in poor shape, abnormal bump on nose and looks malnourished, needs further medical care. Must receive commitment no later than 2:00 pm 7/12/23 and pick-up no later than 2:00 pm 7/12/23, will not hold past 3:00 pm 7/12/23. No extensions will be given.

If you bought a puppy from Bryce & Cierra Vineyard this week who are illegally breeding pitbulls in the city of Springfield and selling puppies who are 5-6 weeks old which is again illegal as the state requires them to be 8 weeks old, keep an eye on your puppy as the others have parvo. We will be turning these two in for failing to provide medical care to a sick animal and their illegal breeding. Rescues can not keep cleaning up messes of "breeders" for it only to happen again. Now, storytime.

This little one is being rushed to the emergency vet after it just came in with parvo. Someone contacted a couple who are breeding their pets and they were selling them for $200 each with no vaccines. Shocking right? Today they called her and asked her to take one that has been sick for 3 days. Now that they know it is parvo, the others have been surrendered. This one is going to need a ton of prayers and good vibes and if anyone would like to donate to their treatment, it is usually over $1,000 per puppy when they are critical and require hospitalization at the emergency vet. There are 5 of them. :( We could not let them die without trying just because they were let down by irresponsible humans trying to make a quick buck.

MALCOLM 23-11971, 75.2 lbs., 1-5 yrs., came in very skittish, able to pet and handle, came in with 23-11972 and 23-11973, has been kenneled in with another dog with no concerns as of today, being treated for kennel cough. Must receive commitment no later than 2:00 pm 6/30/23 and pick-up no later than 2:00 pm 6/30/23, will not hold past 3:00 pm 6/30/23. No extensions will be given.

23-11971 is a brown, male adult dog, that weighs approximately 75 lbs. The intake date was 6/6/2023 from the City of Downey.
