🌈In ELSA’S Memory🌈
🚨Continued Support Needed🚨
On April 6 2024, we rescued a malnourished, pregnant cat with a broken jaw, fractured teeth, and a hematoma to the right ear. She had elbow and hip dysplasia, was infested with fleas, lice, and ear mites. 5 days following her rescue, she miscarried 4 kittens. We had her spayed, vaccinated, and fully vetted. She had a dental with extractions (all 4 remaining teeth). As some of you may already know, her name is Louise. Louise’s injuries were the result of a brick thrown at her face and many years of neglect.
That same month, we rescued another cat with head trauma, ear mites, fleas, 6 fractured teeth and leukemia virus. Later we determined he was diabetic. His name is Eclipse. He was neutered, vaccinated, and fully vetted. He had a dental with extractions. After nearly 8 months, Eclipse learned to trust people. He is now in a home with the most loving family. ❤️
At the time of Louise and Eclipse’s rescue, we also trapped an opossum with a fractured skull. We named him Paul. He was successfully rehabbed at LENSC in spring, 2024.
All from Wilkes Villa in Elyria.
On Jan 21, 2025, we were again contacted about a cat at Wilkes Villa. It was Elsa. She was found frozen on a tenant’s porch. She was diagnosed with hypothermia, panleukopenia, FeLV, dehydration, URI, conjunctivitis, liver failure, frost bite of the ears and paws, and malnutrition. Despite every effort to save her, Elsa passed.
Jasper’s Mewvment reached out to the tenant that alerted and assisted us in rescuing these cats and the opossum since April, 2024. On the day of Elsa’s passing, January 23, 2025, we asked how many cats needed rescue and offered help. On February 4, we accepted 4 cats from Wilkes Villa into rescue. They have been spayed/ neutered, vaccinated, FIV/FeLV tested, de-wormed, and treated with revolution plus. Unfortunately, the two females are in need of extensive medical care. They have fractured and broken teeth. They need extractions. They have hematomas to their ears. They are malnourished. They have upper respiratory infections.
We want to continue our mission to end the suffering at Wilkes Villa.
Below are pictures of Hilda and Meredith, both in need of dentals and full- service veterinary care. Also pictured is Rockefeller and Tiger Jack, younger boys from Wilkes. Thankfully, these boys haven’t yet experienced the many years of suffering and abuse and are now safe. There are still several other cats in need of rescue at Wilkes, but we can’t move forward without first helping Hilda and Meredith.
Please consider helping us make a difference in the lives of these kitties.
