Why Dogs Bark (And What You Can Do About It):
They’re Looking for Attention – Sometimes, barking is just your pup’s way of saying, “Hey, look at me!” Teaching your dog that calm behavior gets them attention, rather than barking, can work wonders.
They Feel Stressed or Threatened – Barking can be a way for dogs to blow off steam when they feel nervous or threatened. This is where my “Calm Freeze” technique comes in. It’s a quick way to help your dog relax, even when they’re feeling anxious.
It’s Their Instinct to Protect – Dogs often bark because they think they’re keeping you safe. Helping them understand when they need to be “on duty” and when they can relax is a game-changer.

According to the Sleep Foundation, “while many puppies sleep less at night than adult dogs do, they sleep more hours during the day and sleep for longer overall. The majority of puppies also sleep in a crate or a kennel. Adult Dogs: Most adult dogs seem to need between eight and 13.5 hours of sleep every day, with an average of just under 11 hours.”
