Hi, I'm Whisper! I'm a 9-year-old chestnut quarter horse who first came to Longmeadow in late 2020. Ranch staff say I was pushy and ill-mannered when I first arrived, but I've been working on my ground manners and have become an attentive and respectful mare. I stand quietly for grooming, tacking and mounting. I also confidently ride at the walk and trot, both in and out of the arena and will require a strong intermediate rider to continue my training. I've been ridden extensively on trails and have even worked cows! My build makes me well-suited for most disciplines, and I tend to land in the middle of the pecking order when in a large herd.

Meet Twizzler! This Appaloosa mare has so much potential. She has been lightly started under saddle and will require an advanced rider and continued professional training. Twizzler requires sessions that keeps her brain engaged through different activities and exercises.

This gal tends to be an easy keeper and gets along well with her pasture mates. She is great for both the vet and farrier! Come meet her at Longmeadow this weekend 💚

Check out the smoothest ride currently residing at Longmeadow! Halsey is a sweet Paso Fino mare that came to Longmeadow as an owner surrender. Not only is she a gorgeous buckskin, but she is a quality trail horse, too! She has spent the majority of her under saddle mileage out on the trails, and it shows! She neck reins, stands quietly for grooming and tacking, picks her feet up for the farrier, and gets along well with pasture mates! Halsey will require an intermediate rider that has experience with gaited horses.

Halsey was returned to Longmeadow due to some lameness issues. One of our trusted vets found distention in both coffin joints and decided to inject both of the joints. She has since been evaluated by the vet again and remains sound. At this time we recommend her for light riding only. She will require shoes if ridden on trails.

Everest was a part of a 2020 rescue that consisted of pigs, a goat and several other horses. When she first arrived, she was significantly underweight but has has transformed into a new horse with rehabilitation and a strict refeeding program. Everest has been trained for riding in the past but has several behaviors from poor training and bad saddle fit in the past. Her adopter will need to be an advanced rider who has experience with handling anxious horses.

The wild horses and b***os have arrived in Seguin, Texas!

Up to 120 wild horses and b***os will be available for adoption at the Seguin Events Complex (950 South Austin St.) beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 4. Adoptions will be held from noon-6 p.m. on Friday, and from 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, Feb 5. Bureau of Land Management - New Mexico staff will be available to approve applications and answer questions.
