Why anyone would want to use hard wood pellets in a rabbit litter box is beyond me. Do people like walking on stones? Rabbit does not either and certainly not when he wants to relieve himself. Also, sore hocks is a real issue, I have seen it. Hard surfaces like wood pellets can cause ulcerations on the rabbits hind
feet where most of the weight of the rabbit is placed.

Be aware and use soft measures for rabbit feet.

In my many years of placing rabbits, the most heart breaking experience is this:
"Gimme Gimme the rabbit and Oh yes I will do anything you say"
and then when they get the rabbit ->
"I have the rabbit now, leave me alone"

Some people welcome advice when they value what others know over their own knowledge on a topic but many today are not of this type. They don't realize how much time and care went into catching a domestic rabbit that has been abandoned, getting it to be people friendly, and training the rabbit to use a litter box as well as other training.

While making decisions on the care of one's rabbit is a personal choice, rejecting advice from others who have provided the rabbit and their experience and knowledge on how to care for rabbit is just plain arrogance and pride that will eventually harm the rabbit.

When adopting a rabbit make sure you want the best for the rabbit and not just your own self interest. I say this because I care about the rabbits I place. A responsible pet owner knows that they must humbly accept good advice and try their best to learn more about their pet in order to care for it properly.
