"Why I shouldnt walk and run beside you today. Because I am a loyal dog, I often go beyond my limits. So I walk and run beside you, standing still if I have to. All while I feel my paws burning. Even as little as 5 minutes can be fatal to me and to my paws. My whole body starts boiling, but I’ll keep going because I am as loyal as loyal comes. I depend on you to know what’s in my best interest. So instead, let me stay at home where I can enjoy the sun, with a large bowl of water, somewhere in the shade. A cool area with grass would be best. With all the love I have in the whole world - I give it all to you - Love your dog 🩷🐾 "

It is with a broken heart and very blurry eyes that I share that today Adonis crossed the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge.
I am fortunate enough to have gotten the call to come say goodbye to this sweet, loving, mushy , amazing boy. Adonis was 13 years old and had the most loving family. Our deepest condolences to Tara, Mike, Olivia & Tristan. Thank you so much for entrusting Our tails are wagging for Jill’s pet services for your pet sitting needs. Adonis will be missed by everyone that had the pleasure to know him.

It is with a BROKEN heart that we announce the very TRAGIC loss of not only 1 of Our tails are wagging furever friend Cali, BUT she was one of Bojangles, Ace, & Luna’s best friend . She passed away on December 26, 2023. She was one of the sweetest, loving, most funniest pups. She would actually be on her walk with her mommy ( Lisa C. Yarborough) who is also a very close personal family friend and get to our driveway and March herself to our front door and wait for us to hear her scratching to come in. We would let her in and she would immediately make a B line to grab some cat food, wait for her piece of cheese and lay herself down in Bojangles bed. She was maybe 7 lbs but owned the world. She had many many sleepovers not only with our babies but would sleep in Kyra’s bed. We will miss her so much , and she will never be forgotten. Our love, and condolences to her mommy Lisa and her favorite bestie Dylan.
🐾In honored of Cali’s memory always remember that at the end of the day our furbabies ARE DOGS, and should never assume that because they are friends, besties with other friends pets you NEVER know what can happen at feeding time) Rest easy our beautiful girl !

******VERY IMPORTANT PLEASE READ IMMEDIATELY ********

To all dog owners - please know there is a serious novel canine virus going around, being referred to as CIRDC - Canine Infectious Respiratory Disease Complex. University of NH seems to have the most updated info and say that it is an "upper respiratory disease that is resistant to standard treatments and does not result in positive tests for common respiratory pathogens. The sequence data has revealed a non-culturable, bacterial-like organism, similar to Mycoplasma in a subset of the respiratory samples. With any investigation of this nature it is difficult to differentiate correlation and causation with the detection of DNA sequences and agents" - and "Known canine respiratory pathogens were not identified. This early metagenomic work did not reveal any RNA or DNA virus of concern, and no typical fungal or bacterial respiratory pathogens were identified".

My dogs are currently going through this however it is my 5 month old puppy (Crush - pictured on left) who isn't doing well. He initially contracted it about 5 weeks ago and brought it home to my almost 9 y/o female Ellie (on right in pic). We have had Ellie on meds since she began sneezing approximately 2.5 weeks ago, and so far so good with her. The following information pertains to "Crush":

Symptoms: initially it was just sneezing and nasal discharge, and a minimal cough

Date of first symptoms: approx 10/15/23

Severity: He was doing Ok but we were getting only minimal results after being on Temaril P and Amoxy since mid Oct. Symptoms lessened except for upon exertion. The vets have been in contact with us almost daily since mid Oct, so they decided to do another X-ray last friday 11/17. This film showed some bronchial inflammation (prior films showed clear lungs). He was still showing symptoms upon any exertion so they did another X-ray this past Weds (11/22) and it looked like he was at the start of pneumonia. Clavamox was added to the Doxy. He was doing Ok and seemed to be responding to the new cocktail, but then suddenly last night he was having trouble breathing after exertion, so I rushed him to the ER vet around 1:30 this morning. X-ray showed about 2/3 of his left lung w/pneumonia. He has been admitted and is receiving IV Clavamox & nebulizer as of approx 4 am this morning (11/26).

Exposure: pet training facility/day care run by reputable vet practice where all dogs MUST be up to date on vaccines to participate in training or attend day care. After his first two classes and a couple of days at their day care they had to shut down as many dogs suddenly fell ill. He began showing symptoms a few days after this.

Diagnostics: PCR (approx 3 weeks ago), X-rays (almost weekly since onset of symptoms), CBC (11/22), Blood gas test (11/25)

Diagnosis: mysterious CIRDC initially, PCR after about 2 weeks of treatment showed positive for mycoplasma but negative for everything else. Pneumonia as of 2am this morning (11/26)

Treatment: currently admitted to hospital and is on IV meds and nebulizer since early this morning (11/26) around 4 am

Duration of disease: since approx 10/15/23.

This is a highly contagious disease so best to stay away from any place where dogs congregate ie: dog parks, groomers, training facilities, day care/boarding facilities etc..

Please keep my pups in your thoughts and prayers and I will do the same for anyone currently dealing with this awful illness. 🙏
