It's hard to help a friend who is experiencing grief. If you find yourself in this role, here are some kind and loving thoughts and suggestions on how you can best help the loved ones in your life as they navigate loss.

It's common to feel anxious and intimidated in the "grief support" role. This is one of the reasons why otherwise caring people sometimes say hurtful, minimizing, or unhelpful things to their bereaved loved ones and why they sometimes avoid their grieving friends and family members altogether.  Ho...

One meaningful way to honor your pet is by getting a tattoo dedicated to them. Consider designs like paw prints, portraits, their life dates, or a unique symbol that holds significance. This tattoo will serve as a constant reminder of the special bond you shared with your beloved pet.

Another way to memorialize a beloved pet is with a statue or figurine. After her kitty passed, Jessica, one of our support specialists, was gifted a statue from a family member which was hand painted to look just like Nugget. Jessica kindly gave permission to share this in case it resonates with anyone else in their own journey with memorializing their beloved pet.

Tribute to a Best Friend

Sunlight streams through the window pane
unto a spot on the floor.
then I remember,
it's where you used to lie,
but now you are no more.
Our feet walk down a hall of carpet,
and muted echoes sound.
then I remember,
It's where your paws would joyously abound.
A voice is heard along the road,
and up beyond the hill,
then I remember it can't be yours.
your golden voice is still.
But I'll take that vacant spot of floor
and empty muted hall
and lay them with the absent voice
and unused dish along the wall.
I'll wrap these treasured memorials
in a blanket of my love
and keep them for my best friend
until we meet above.

About Us...

At Eternal Pawprints, we strive to make the end-of-life care process as easy and peaceful as we can. To allow your pet to pass on with the dignity and grace that they and you deserve.

Veterinary hospice and euthanasia allow us to provide end-of-life care to keep your pet comfortable until it’s time to say goodbye. Saying goodbye to your pet in the comfort of home with little to no stress, is the best thing for everyone involved.

This is why we do this! It is a calling and an honor to help each family. This way you can grieve and heal.
