Some of the happiest faces around!! They might not be at home but they’re with the closest thing to family as they can be! We love all these sweet faces so much and are so thankful for the many many years we’ve known some of these guys. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!

The mysterious canine illness, it’s been around for a few months but it seems to be getting worse.

If you’ve not heard about it, it’s a respiratory illness that’s causing dogs to have a cough, runny nose, difficulty breathing.. and then progresses to pneumonia. They’re having a really hard time treating it. They don’t know what is causing it and the regular vaccines don’t seem to be preventing it.

We have yet to have a case in San Diego but it’s only a matter of time. The best way to keep your dogs safe is to avoid public places, dog parks, restaurants, etc. If you notice any coughing call your vet right away, it seems to affect some dogs worse than others, some are passing away quickly after coming down with symptoms.

How are we going to address this? We are very small scale, we are not open for drop ins, all dogs must be established and healthy. We never have and never will take in a dog that is coughing, if coughing is observed they are immediately quarantined and sent home. I hope we can continue to avoid any problems in the future but I recommend keeping your dog out of public settings, if your dogs only come here or are home and everyone is healthy we shouldn’t have any problems 🤞🤞

Having so much outside time helps too, so thankful for our outside space!

Hopefully they get a handle on this soon, we love all our puppies sooo much and don’t want anyone to get sick! If you notice ANY coughing please keep your pup home and call the vet right away.

I love this woman. She’s amazing. If your dog is ever frightened and runs or escapes when you’re gone, your instincts are to chase and grab or search all over, but you must make other steps instead.
Every situation is different but most the time the dog is not far from where it ran from, a lot of times the dog tries to return to only find a shut gate or door. You want to leave a way for your dog to come back in, leave your scent outside, by placing dirty laundry around to help them find their way back home. They use their nose to find their way and if you’re out searching and spreading your scent all around it makes it a lot harder for them to find their way home.
Babs says you can take a quick normal walk that you would normally but then get back home. If you have another dog you can take them on the walk as well to help lure them back home.
But ultimately CALL BABS! Shes helping people all over the place so if she misses you she will get back to you asap! (619) 249-2221.
