Join us for two days of conformation fun!

Our past year’s retreats were a wonderful event that we received amazing feedback on. Imagine two days of learning, training dogs, relaxing and hanging out with other great dog people in a beautiful, dog-friendly environment.

This year we are welcoming some of our amazing and talented Show Dog Prep School Instructors who are coming all the way from Georgia as well as local Contributors.
When: September 21 & 22, 2024
Where: Finley Farm, Pleasanton, California

Who: This event is for anyone interested in learning about conformation in a relaxing and comfortable environment. While the focus is show ring training and presentation, raising show puppies, we will explore other sports such as nose work and NASDA. We will also have presentations on mindset and ring nerves, Q & A with a nutrition expert and an AKC judge.

What: Two days of learning and fun! A class will start approximately every hour, with most classes lasting 30 minutes or 50 minutes. You may choose to participate in the class with your dog or hang out and watch.

Your dog(s): Your dog(s) will be set up beside you in a pen or crate just as they would be at a dog show. Your dog can hang out and relax in their space when not working or can be out with you during classes, talks and Q & As. You may bring more than one dog.

The Instructors: The Instructors at this event are SDPS Instructors who participate in conformation and are experienced dog trainers and/or behavior consultants. We are thrilled to be hosting:

Ingredients like grapes, xylitol and chocolate are in many human edible cannibis products and are potentially toxic to one’s dog. Please keep edibles in high cabinets away from pets. (No pun intended! )If your pet accidentally ingests one’s edibles please be upfront with the veterinarian trying to help your fur baby.

Rochester veterinarians are reporting a sharp rise in dogs getting cannabis poisoning, usually from getting hold of edibles. The ASPCA has also seen a surge in calls to its national poison control center hotline for cannabis intoxication.

Xylitol may be referred to as birch sugar. Thay are one in the same and equally toxic to your dog.
