This Saturday, January 25th between 1-3pm Choice Pet in Ridgefield will be hosting a fundraiser and bake sale benefitting ROAR!

Come stop by to meet some adorable adoptable puppies 🐶 and pick up some delicious baked treats to enjoy 🧁 and/or a friendship bracelet 📿 (handmade by young local ROAR supporters) for you or your kids to wear!

Funds raised from the bake sale and bracelets will be donated to ROAR. 🙏

Meet Lua 🩷

Lua is a 6-month-old white pup who just arrived from sunny South Carolina and is trying to figure out what on earth this “cold” thing is all about. She’s officially declared snow a “hard pass” but she is enjoying getting cozy in sweatshirts and sweaters. 🧶

Lua is a total cuddlebug who’s mastered the art of the snuggle. Whether it’s burrowing into blankets, curling up on your lap, or stealing your spot on the couch, she’s all about staying warm and spreading love. Sweet, snuggly, and completely charming, Lua is ready to warm your heart—even if she’s still trying to thaw out her toes. 🤗

🐾 Happy Tails Friday 01/17/25 🔸MARTIN (Marty)

Martin was adopted from ROAR a year ago and we are so happy that he’s found a wonderful family with loving humans!💜

“Hi ROAR,

A year ago in December, we brought home Martin. We just want to share some photographs of the last year with him. We love Martin so very much and could not imagine our life without him!

We call him Marty.😊

This year Marty went on trips to Saratoga, NY and Long Beach Island, NJ (twice). He loves hiking, going to the dog park and daycare, driving in the car and dog ice cream! He is great with our entire family, including our young nieces. He loves playing with other dogs.

Martin has a big year ahead of him as his parents will be getting married, with him there!

Hoshi, a dapper black-and-white gentleman from Puerto Rico, has a job to do—and that job is everything. Curious doesn’t even begin to cover it. Hoshi takes his self-appointed role as Chief Investigator very seriously. This fearless feline is endlessly curious and will leave no corner unexplored. Despite his busy schedule of sleuthing, Hoshi is more than happy to take a break for some head scratches or to supervise your activities with his sharp, judgmental gaze (he swears it’s just curiosity!).

This year, ROAR is celebrating its 25th Anniversary! 🎉

Since our inception, we have found loving homes for thousands of dogs and cats, provided essential medical care, and supported countless animals through challenging times.

Throughout 2025, we will be sharing stories about some of our most memorable guests...starting with Jupiter. 🐈

Jupiter is a beautiful, one-year old, calico cat, who came to ROAR from Animal Care Centers of NYC (ACC) with severe breathing issues and a mysterious scar in her eye. She had unfortunately been in a house fire before she and the other cat she lived with were dropped off at ACC NYC.

Despite her rough start, Jupiter was an incredibly sweet and affectionate cat who loved nothing more than getting lots of pets and cuddles. One of her most endearing qualities was how much she loved to purr. However, due to Jupiter’s health condition, she struggled with finding a home...

During her stay with us, ROAR provided Jupiter with the veterinary care that she desperately needed including a myriad of tests, x-rays and other diagnostics, medications, a ballooning procedure to help her breathe and an overnight stay at the vet hospital before coming back into ROAR’s care to recover.

In 2024, this special girl was *finally* adopted by a friend of one of ROAR’s staff members (who was a huge advocate for this wonderful cat), and we’re happy to report Jupiter is now living her best life with another cat sibling too. 🐱🐱

Kevin is the smartest boy and always comes when he is called! He is often found strolling around the cat room, meowing and chatting with us. He is always proving that age is just a number, and likes to hop up on the cat tree to look out the window or onto the high shelves.
