“Hello!!! Thanks for reaching out! He is doing AMAZING!!!!!!!!! And he’s getting big! His new name is Crispy, middle name BamBam. Ha!

He adjusted so well to his new home. He is already adjusting to our schedule, he is fully potty trained, crate trained, and extremely friendly with other dogs, kids, and people. He is so smart! We are learning lots of new tricks and he always comes when we call his name. We have been slowly taking him to new places, introducing him to our neighbors, and giving him all the love, comfort, toys and treats in the world. He is the love of my life, I would genuinely do anything for him. We truly understand each other, it was a match made in heaven. We do everything together and we listen to each other. I love him SO MUCH.

As many of you know, it takes a lot to care for young puppies. Every day they are growing, experiencing new things, and learning more and more about the world around them. 🐶

One of the most important things they learn is where and when to go potty. 🤔

At ROAR we use old newspapers to help paper train the young pups... it's a safer and less expensive method than traditional wee wee pads. 🗞️🗞️🗞️

That's why for this we'd like to ask for anyone who has access to old newspapers to please donate them to ROAR. 🙏

We have placed a clear plastic storage bin outside of the front door (shown in the last photo) where newspapers can be dropped off at any time (regardless of the shelter being open).

Meet Brie 🩷

Brie is a sweet and gentle seven-year-old chihuahua who was found wandering the streets in Waterbury, CT. Because Waterbury Animal Control was overcrowded, ROAR took her in and she is adjusting well Despite her tough start, Brie’s spirit remains unbroken. Her big brown eyes shine with curiosity as she adjusts to her new surroundings. 🌳

Named after her favorite treat, Brie is a cheese-loving little lady who adores being pampered with small bites of her namesake 🧀 She’s getting used to her new harness, taking slow, measured steps as she also gets accustomed to her leash. Once she has a little one on one time, she recognizes her friends at the shelter and greets them with her little tail wagging. 🐾

Brie may be older, but she has a heart full of love to give. She’s looking for a loving forever home where she can spend her golden years being spoiled with affection and, of course, plenty of cheese. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will always be by your side, Brie is your girl. 🏡❤️

We’re working on sharing toys with big sister (she can be cranky sometimes). She’s a biiiiiig fan of breakfast and dinner. She’s learned paw, stay, down, kisses, “do your circle” and room (crate). She still isn’t the biggest fan of walking, she’d prefer to just walk for a bit then sit and watch the people go by.
