It’s sad but *please* share to spread awareness and hopefully make a difference
💩 💩 💩 💩 Did you know that the dogs at Lee County Domestic Animal Services only get to leave their kennel to use the bathroom outside 1 time per day- if they're lucky. They don't have enough staff & they beg for volunteers on a daily basis but won't "accept" most applicants & then "fire" the most loyal volunteers that ever walked the earth if they voice ANY concerns? Imagine running a facility where the dogs are forced to live in p**p & p*e filled concrete kennels 24 hours a day? That's happening right here in Lee County, Florida..Isnt that right, Director Pablo Adorno? Right PR.Karen Fordiani/Frick? Why yes. YES IT IS.
2 AMAZING ladies who have worked there for months tried to speak the facility management about this & were met with deaf ears. So, they went to the Asst. County Manager Marc Mora & commissioner Mikey Greenwell. The ladies were warned by many other people that if they spoke up to ANYONE outside those corrupt doors, they'd be "fired" instantly. But their huge, genuine hearts couldnt take it. So they spoke to Marc un"Moral" & Mikey Greenwell & were "ASSURED" 1000% that they would "never let that happen". So they met with them in a meeting. The following day, the ladies went in, started cleaning the p**p filled kennels & were immediately told they were FIRED. The following day LCDAS put out a plea for volunteers. Even when these 2 DEDICATED ladies were there, the dogs were ONLY going out once a day because of how many dogs are in this slaughterhouse. Imagine now, without them!! Please tell me any other facility that you know of that operates under these horrific, horrendous & outrageous conditions & then "fires" their best volunteers who do that job for free because they voice valid concerns.
LEE COUNTY IS OUT OF CONTROL. If you want to watch the ladies speak today at the Commissioners meeting, heartbroken & destroyed that they've been terminated from a volunteer position where they CHANGED the lives of those dogs, you can tune in & watch it live on the Lee County Commissioners website. The dogs of Lee County are the most UNLUCKY dogs in the state to ever step foot thru those doors.
