Today is the day! I am back at it with grooming and will be posting my clients/angels once again. This summer has been particularly hard for my physical and mental health and I couldn't appreciate the support and understanding I have received. Going forward there I am instating a few new policies and will try to be more transparent about the process!
That being said, there will be a cancelation policy put in place where you must cancel or reschedule with at least 24 hours notice of your appointment or you will incur a fee of 25% of your groom to cover the income lost. Emergencies are the exception because I understand completely that life can be tough and there will always be unexpected occurrences.
I use the highest quality products I can and with inflation being the way it is, it has been an adjustment to make this business profitable. Each pet receives 3 facial scrubs for maximum facial freshness (who doesn't love kissing a fresh face), 2 shampoos, a conditioning treatment and occasionally a finishing spray dependant on coat type. As you can imagine, this can be time consuming and costly but I have found in my 12 years that it ensures peak coat health and longest lasting freshness. I put a lot of emphasis on skin and coat health and high quality products are not cheap. I focus on one on one grooming for anxious or senior pups and this is a luxury service with around a $10-$20 markup at most salons. Prices will be slightly increased on a case by case basis and I will let everyone know prior to their next appointment if their services are going to be any more expensive than usual.
I do require my clients to be on a flea preventative and if I do find fleas on your pet, I usually have to reschedule my entire rest of the day to ensure that no one comes in contact with fleas. If your pet has fleas, I can still fulfill the service but there will be a $20 per pet increase to offset the loss of income that includes a flea shampoo and will cover the cleaning products to ensure my salon is a flea free space.
And lastly, due to being a one on one groomer and having a set schedule, if you are more than 15 minutes late for your appointment, I will need to reschedule in order to prioritize the clients booked after.
