Lovely "Monkey" is headed to Lexington KY. She's an amazing rescue who beat the odds when she and her littermates were abandoned as puppies. She's now on a journey to the next chapter of her story. Thanks to Higher Ground Animal Sanctuary, she is a happy healthy dog!

THIS IS NOT HOW TO TRANSPORT PETS!!!

It's NOT SAFE
It's NOT CLEAN
It's NOT SANITARY
It's NOT USDA SAFETY COMPLIANT

We understand that "crates" may be objectionable to some owners, but crates give your pet a safe, secure, clean environment. If you care about your pet, send them with someone who follows USDA Safety Regulations. Pet transport is regulated for a reason!

The Isle of Discussion, also known as Eilean a' Chòmhraidh, is a small, heart-shaped island in Loch Leven, Scotland. It was a meeting place for members of the MacDonald Clan who had disputes with their neighbors. The clan chief would send the feuding parties to the island, where they would stay until their disagreements were resolved. To help the parties reach a peaceful agreement, they were provided with food and drink, including cheese, oatcakes, and Scotch whisky. Once the dispute was settled, the parties would sail to Eilean na Bainne, the Isle of Covenant or Ratification, to draw up and seal the agreements.

Nicely done Jetblue!
(Not our story, just sharing)

Thank you Flight Crews for paying attention to a struggling passenger and acting quickly to save their life. Hopefully all airlines will learn from your actions and include this step in their emergency services. Thank you for sharing this story....
_______________
Posted • Thank you !!!! We need more flight attendants like this ! Michele and Steven Burt brought their three dogs in carriers with them on their JetBlue flight that was heading from Florida to Massachusetts. They placed all of them under their seats and at some point, they noticed that their small French Bulldog was having a hard time breathing.

Midway through the flight, Michele knew that something was very wrong. “I noticed that her tongue was blue, and I am aware that is a sign of insufficient oxygen (Hypoxia), so I pulled her out from under the seat and placed her on my lap to cool down and help her relax as she was panicking and breathing frantically.” At first, the flight attendant called Michele’s attention when she saw that her dog was out. This is strictly against the rules. When Michelle told the flight attendant how sick Darcy the Frenchie was, she quickly grabbed her fellow crew members and they all sprung to action.

Flight attendants Renaud Spencer and Diane Asher grabbed some ice bags and a small oxygen tank with a mask attached.

And once the mask was over Darcy’s face, she was finally able to breathe. She started to calm down and she became more alert again.

Michele said, “I believe Renaud and Diane saved a life, some may reduce the value of life because Darcy is a canine — I do not.”

What the flight attendants did was strictly against the rules, and they knew that they had violated protocol. But according to JetBlue, they couldn’t be prouder. In its released statement, JetBlue praised them for their actions stating: “Our mission is to inspire humanity, and we’re very proud of those outstanding crew members who consistently demonstrate a passion for excellent customer service.”

Dogs are part of our families and we never want them to suffer.

About Us

GROUND TRANSPORT: With the ever increasing restrictions on traveling with our pets, there is a need for SAFE and KNOWLEDGEABLE ground transport. Not only do you need a good driver that will get them from point A to point B, you need an experienced animal lover.

We are USDA licensed transporters and handle travel for all breeds, however we specialize in safely delivering brachy breeds through all types of weather. Our van is small enough that temperature is easily controlled throughout, ensuring a comfortable ride.

We stop every four hours for walks and bathroom breaks. Water is available at all times, feeding is twice per day unless otherwise instructed. We use comfortable crate pads and or blankets - no shavings or shredded newspaper. It’s a long trip, your dog should be comfortable!

We are very particular about the spread of germs between dogs so we do NOT reuse crate pads, blankets or beds during a trip. Puppies are kept “paws off the ground” and are pottied on p*e pads in an x-pen with two layers between your puppy and the ground. Crates are disinfected between uses and again after every trip and we sanitize our hands in between handling each dog. If we stop at a hotel, the dogs stay in the room with us, otherwise we eat and sleep in the van, keeping a watchful eye on your pets.
