Our Beautiful River had an abscess on her pretty muzzle. It pooped and with her agreement we got it drained. Treated her with antibiotic and anti inflammatory meds. And a medicated topical cream. Her wound is looking really good now. The drainage site has closed and has a small scab. The inflammation is pretty much gone now except the normal healing kind and it looks really good.
This would so be our Stormy!
Putting a goat play zone together!
Donkeys call their charges in from the pasture.
So the other day I was feeding the does and babies, and once i finished their feed I went to wall to the largest pasture and 2 of our goats were in the farthest part of the pasture. Our donkeys bra'ed anc the goats jumped with an alert of danger and ran towards their donkeys. After a hand full of lung runs they looked around and slowed down to a happy run because they realized it was time to eat.
Proud of our pack. They are bonded and know each other well enough to protect each other.

River got her mani pedi yesterday and i got the most heart warming compliment. The farrier said she doesn't do donkey work without sedation. And only has a handful in her rotation because they are so well trained and behaved. River is now in that handful! And she the farrirer that is said that someone has done a really good job working with and training this donkey. I just smiled and said well thank you that would be me.
She knew Farrier Holistic Hooves • The Donkey Farrier, and i explained i just did a lot of research that included reading articles and watching videos on ground work for donkeys and equine in general.

We have a number of foster goats and sheep. Just took in 8 combined last month.
We could use straw bales and hay of course for winter.
I estimate we will need every bit of 65 bales of hay this winter just for the animals in our care.
We feed pacaverde or alfalfa works.
Gift certificates or call ahead and pay first to stack shop or western ranchmen is helpful.
Slowly at my own pace prepping for winter weather for goats, sheep and our donkeys.
Pallets laid out with plywood on top to keep them out of the mud for their feet/hoof health.
Now to finish the cover of the goats/sheep big pallet surface.

Thinning the herd: So we have sold a few of our goats recently.
In preparation for the cooler months, we are preparing to lighten our feed bill. Ie less hay and grains to purchase!
We have a good selection of pet quality goats or a breeding doe that may be bred. -she makes beautiful babies, but doesn’t make enough or doesn’t like sharing her milk on the milking stand. (It’s the share part)
