Please keep dogs close to you and under control at all times and clean up any potty accidents your dog has 🙂

⚠️If your pet is coughing, has a runny nose, runny eyes, fever, is sick, has diarrhea, has severe case of fleas, has a bad skin infection or any open wounds, please get them into a vet ASAP and bring them back next time - when they’re healthy. We have the right to refuse service if we feel your pet could possibly be sick and/or contagious.⚠️

Reminder for our pet sitting clients…

If you’re going out of town and are having us care for your pets, here’s some simple things we’d like you to do before you leave if possible:

✨Leave paper towels and hand soap by the kitchen sink.
✨Make sure you have enough pet food, litter & pet supplies. If we run out and need to buy more there’s an errand fee charged.
✨Replace batteries in smoke alarms, co2 detectors, garage door openers and keyless entry systems if you haven’t changed them recently.
✨Leave a broom, dustpan and trashcan (with liner). If we’re caring for kitties we like to sweep around the box before you get home 😁

Having to make that ‘difficult’ decision to help your pet cross over?

I’m not a veterinarian but here’s what I just shared with a friend and typical of my response when someone asks me how to know when it’s ‘time’…

Once all pain meds/steroids stop working and he begins to NOT enjoy the normal things he loves, that’s when you can start helping him cross.

That’s just my opinion.

What you want to avoid is letting it get SO BAD that you know he’s in extreme pain and he physically can’t eat or do typical ‘dog’ things…catch it before he gets there and stay with him during the med administration.

It’s difficult but all they want is to be near their loved ones, even during their final moments. ❤️ (hugs)

Cheers to a happy Monday!!!

We have an insanely busy pet sitting week starting soon so minimal grooming will be done until next week.

Also, two pet nail trim events this weekend 🤪 and we are NOT setting up at Middletown Farmers Market for our pet nail trim event on Friday - we haven’t cancelled the event on our page yet but will today. So if you’re in the Anderson or Middletown areas be sure to come see us on Sunday at Anderson Tractor Supply.

Urgent, like really urgent, seriously…foster home needed for a momma cat and 6 6-week old kittens.

This little family is outside at a local housing complex and the kids in the neighborhood are tormenting the kittens. It’s not safe at all for any of them, especially the little ones.

Food, litter, supplies will be given you just need to provide a safe indoor environment for them.

I would foster them but I have my hands full with Mary Jane, the long-term boarding dog and the NEW momma kitty and 7 kittens I took in on Sunday (pics of them coming soon!).

Message or call me if you’d like more info or if you’re willing to foster. *Momma and babies will go to Petsmart once they’re vetted and ready for adoption.

We love working with pet parents that actually care about their pets. In this case, they care about their cats...horribly overfull cat litter boxes make us cringe when we start on cat sitting visits, please don't let the waste pile up because "the cat sitter is coming soon, we'll let them clean it up."

If you're a new cat mom or dad (or maybe you had a cat a LONG TIME AGO) keep in mind that cats typically like to scratch the litter and cover up their waste.

Once the litter box looks like the picture we shared, they aren't able to dig and cover, which COULD tempt them to start pottying or p**ping outside of the litter box because (a) who would want to potty in a place like that and (b) they're just looking for a clean spot to do their business.

PRO TIPS:

Simply take 5 minutes a day and scoop the litter box, put the waste in a bag and throw it in the trash. Sweep up any stray cat litter that gets scoop out onto the floor and maybe once a week or once a month empty the litter box entirely for a deep clean.

Then, take some paper towels and wipe out any litter/waste pieces, rinse it out in the shower (don't put cat litter down the drain!) or outside with a hose, use some good old-fashioned soap and water and scrub that baby clean OR spray some white vinegar inside and wipe it out.

The white vinegar will help counteract the urine smell. There are other products on the market you can use to clean litter boxes but we're just sharing a simple tip to help you care for your cats better 😁

This is the 2nd Community Cat Management program Ambassadors for God's Creatures has gotten approved, first was in Elwood County his one is in Middletown.

Community cats are cats not ‘owned’ by anyone but are cared for by people in the neighborhoods. It also provides TNR/TNVR (trap, neuter/vaccinate, release). Spaying and neutering this outdoor kitties will maintain the population safely and vaccinating them will help them stay healthier.

TNR is an important part of outdoor cat management because ‘just moving cats out of the area’ actually causes more cats to move in and the cycle continues.

Fixing the ones that are there and getting any kittens that are born into a foster/adopt situation is ideal for them.

We’re so glad to be apart of this organization because of all the awesome work being done to help pets and their people 💚🐾💚
