Our recent Therapy Dog Workshop went great and we are now offering a regular 6 week session class to work on the skills needed for success in Therapy Dog work. Register now by emailing [email protected] to save your spot – limited to 6 teams.

Pat has been involved with Therapy Dog work for the last 18 years. Joining TDI as a volunteer, than an evaluator and instructor for 16 years. With an addtional 2 years with Pets and People; a local therapy dog group. Pat’s therapy dogs (5) have logged in more than 1,000 volunteer hours as therapy dogs and disaster relief dogs. An active AKC judge and an evaluator. Pat’s newest therapy dog is Collinswood’s very own Phoenix.

Collinswood agility students... What special topics would you want for a class??? Topics can be anything from running A-frame to weaves to distance work to European turns, etc, etc.... this would be a six week class focusing on that topic....We need to know who might be interested and if there is specific interest for certain topics - possibly to be offered either Tuesday or Friday with Erin. Happy Monday, everyone!

Jess Harris and I are running a mock ACT (Agility Course Test) this coming Saturday, November 2nd. We plan to begin at 11am and go until everyone has completed their runs. This is in preparation for the ACT at Collinswood the following weekend.

We will be offering 2 runs per handler/dog team at the cost of $30 total. There will be an ACT Standard level 1 course in the morning, and then a ACT Standard Level 2 course in the afternoon. If you wish to do 2 runs but don't feel ready to try weaves and/or teeters, you can sign up for the level 2 run and simply skip those obstacles as needed. If you are only interested in one run, then we will put you in for either level 1 or level 2 and the cost will be $20. We will do our best to send out "run orders" by Friday night, but those are flexible and subject to change depending on how the day goes.

The plan is to run the event as a semi-formal run-through: you will come inside and check in for your runs without your dog, and weather permitting we will have you crate/rest your dogs in your cars. If you are uncomfortable leaving your dog in your car, please come talk to Sam or Jess and we will be happy to accommodate/discuss options. Once your run is finished, Sam will be there to give you feedback and you are welcome to take some time to ask questions, and then we will have you leave the building with your dog so we can begin the next run. Between your runs, you are welcome to come inside without your dog to be an audience and act as polite distractions for the dog running the course (remember, we're all here to train and have fun!).

Your Dog's Jump Height (what height you would like the jumps set to for your run throughs, for the ACT this can be any, not just what your dog is measured at for trials)
