Learned a valuable sad lesson. Mr Mushu aka Deadpool aka Red Menace was not eating for the last few days and wasn't his fiesty self. Took some X-rays and bloodwork that showed stomach cancer. There is no treatment options and his condition will quickly decline so he will be euthanized. Was told as breeding continues in dragons with the high end morphs, genetic predispositions are becoming more common such as cancers. Same with any human bred species/breeds, dogs being a prime example ( looking at you pug/Frenchie/bully/dachshund mixes).

I saw him 6 months ago online, owner who wanted to rehome him (not the original breeder) and had to have him. The most handsome dragon Ive ever seen in person. Came with a cost.... With exotic pet ownership, I too get tempted by the breeding of exotics to look for beautiful traits. Also there is a small pool of animals to breed. There are knowledgeable breeders to seek out that make a great impact, some I've aquired animals from. I VERY rarely buy from stores and I make sure they aren't trafficked from the wild. Like dogs, this species pays the price for us tampering with natural genetics for aestetics for $$$$. It's a delicate balance of humans taking care of animals especially exotics. I'll be better in acquiring animals that have the beauty natural selection gave them.

Wrapped up Pumpkins and Piranhas at the Greater Cleveland Aquarium with my lovely assistant Katie . Had so much fun with amazing families all weekend. Costumes were so great! Thank you for spending time with my scaly , slimy , and creepy critters! Even winners for cockroach guess game. 🐸🐢🦎🐍🐙🦂🕷🐟🦈🐡🐠🕸🎃
