Update on Mooch. Thanks to Kanoa Rescue Foundation, Mooch will be getting neutered on Monday 3/21. Kanoa's mission is important and because we are not able to take donations please consider donating to Kanoa so they can continue their mission. It is only because of them that we are able to provide this neutering free of charge to his current owners.
Fyi Mooch is still looking for his furever home.

Good morning friends. After much feedback today we feel the need to explain again what Furever Family's goals and purpose are.

1. We are not a traditional rescue. We are not a 501 c. We do not take donations. The main purpose of this rescue is to facilitate the rehoming of pets from one family to another. At no time do we have the pets in the rescue or foster. They are never "in" rescue. It is just a transfer of ownership directly from the owner to the new owner.

2. The pets that are listed on our page are either owner to new owner transfers or direct from city animal shelter. The pets from the shelters are spayed prior to leaving. We encourage the current owners to have all the shots up to date and spayed but this is not always financially feasible for them. If the family is wanting the dog or cat and they are willing to do the spay themselves and/or vaccinations then that is fantastic. Since this isn't a traditional rescue we are not bound by the same laws as a 501 c rescue. Everything we do is out of our pocket, travel time, background checks, vet references everything. Our goal is to reduce the population of animals being taken to shelters that are already so full. Especially for breeds whose ratio of adoption to euthanasia is terrifying.

3. We do not have fosters nor are we able to house an animal while we are trying to find them a home. We, on a case by case basis, may house an animal during the transfer process. Specifically, if a new owner needs a few days to get "set up" then we may house the pet until they are ready (getting a fence fixed or they are out of town) or if the new owners need to travel to pick the pet up.

4. Please, if you have questions, advice or thoughts then contact us directly through text, direct messaging or WhatsApp. Please do not ask questions about the validity of our page, rescue or services on the posts of pets that need rehoming as this confuses people. Any shelter animal we list is done at the request of that shelter and that is indicated in that specific post.

5. We have researched the legality of our mission with legal counsel. Since we are not a 501 c rescue we are not bound by the same legal requirements of a 501 c rescue.

We are very clear with our mission of doing our part to reduce the number of animals that end up in the shelter or euthanized because their family has no other option. Families are needing help and the shelters are full and most traditional rescues do not take in dogs from families but only pull from shelters. There has to be a solution in between and we are trying to be part of that solution. Please help us to our part to be a solution.

Taz needs a temporary home/foster. His family is having to move out of their house unexpectedly. The temporary home they are moving into does not allow big dogs. They are hoping to buy a house within the next 6 months. Taz's family will cover vet Bill's and food while he is in a foster. He is good with other dogs, cats, chickens and goats. HE IS FOOD AGGRESSIVE and will need to be fed and treated separately from other pets. PLEASE help so we can keep this boy safe until his loving family can take him back.

Here is the urgent request from his family:

Taz is a red heeler Great Pyrenees mix. He's 1 year and a few months old. He's neutered and up to date on all shots. He's a sweet dog. We're needing to find a temporary or permanent home for him by 3 Feb due to moving into a rental home that doesn't allow large dogs. We would be able to take him back once we find a house to purchase, in about 6 months.

More info on the lab mix at Moore Shelter. Male, approximately 1 year old. Good with other dogs. Passed the cat test. Shelter says he is "rambunctious" but is very trainable. My experience with labs is that they have a longer adolescence than a lot of breeds. With good training I believe he could be an awesome family member. I would not recommend a home with small children at this time because of his rambunctiousness. He is good with children. Approximately 1 year old lab mix needing a home. Currently at Moore animal shelter.Getting more info but this is what I have so far....
1yr old (approx) super sweet. Very rambunctious. Will try for a video. Good with other dogs great disposition.

Okay FFR fam this boy needs a home. Meet gorgeous Dante. The shelter says he is a real sweetheart and super kind. Does well with dogs, unknown about cats and livestock. He is approximately 10 months old, ears are cropped. Very unusual to find a Cane Corso in a shelter. The shelter believes he is full breed, just a little under weight from being on the streets. Please Let me know if anyone is interested.

We have news of another pup that needs a home asap. Anyone that would like to adopt a 10 month old Cane Corso pup? I have been contacted by a city shelter and they are needing help getting him adopted or into a rescue. They said he is most likely full breed and his ears were already done prior to ending up in the shelter. Shelter said he is an absolute sweetheart. Pics coming tomorrow.

Male Chihuahua needs immediate home.

This pup was given to someone but he can't keep him. This sweet dog is named Oz (male). Oz is sweet but shy. Please let me know if anyone is interested. I don't have many details but would probably do better in a quiet home with no small children.

We are still working on things behind the scenes and watch for an update this Spring. Once all the legal paperwork is approved and we have all the documentation in place and are fully registered then we will start searching for board members and fosters. I know this, much the original plan is still the same. The goal of this rescue will always first be about assisting distressed owners who can't keep their pet and would like assistance in rehoming their pet. Fosters would only be utilized in emergency situations approved by the director and at least one board member. We will not be making a weekly trip to the shelters to "pull" all the adoptable dogs. Dogs will only be pulled if a foster is available and if the director and at least one board member approves. Our hope is that the need to pull from the shelter becomes less of a need as more dogs are kept out of the shelter to start with. We also may expand to help with medical expenses on a case by case basis on a Go Fund me type of platform by being able to crowdsource with contacts. This is still being thought out and discussed.

We are extremely grateful as to how word of mouth alone has built our numbers up to the point where this even becomes possible. We will be having a large garage sale in the Spring to hopefully finalize the funding to get us kicked off. So be sure and follow us so you will see the update. We are still on hold as I work on the 501 c forms and filing. Hopefully in a few months we will have things up and back going again. If anyone is interested in becoming a foster home please let me know.

Hey peeps! These two puppers were dumped on someone's property and they cannot keep them. 2 beautiful females unsure of age but still young. Look to be a doberman mix. They are so sweet.

Hey everyone we have an urgent need! This young man needs a savior. He was handed to his current situation when his owner moved. He cannot stay where he is. He does not look well and needs our help. I have no medical history but he is thin, needs a good veterinarian eval, shots and possibly medical care. He needs a good foster home or someone to adopt him. If anyone is interested please private message me and we will discuss.

From the current person who has him: This is raja and he needs his forever home. He’s been back and forth all over. Sadly his owner left him with us when they moved out and we can’t afford another dog. I would keep him if I could but that isn’t an option. We plan on moving within a month so I’m hoping to find him a home by then.
He is kid and dog friendly and has been around a 1 year old and a dog, he is the sweetest with them. Cat friendly he’s never been around so i have no clue! He’s a little over 1 year old and i have no clue what he is but he looks pit bull.

Oreo needs a new Furever home. She has had a tough life and struggles with coping. She needs a home with no other dogs, a safe fenced yard. Owner says she is good with cats and kids. It takes her a long time to warm up to men. She prefers to be outside the majority of the time. Crate trained, housebroken, leash trained but does not like to go for walks. She would be awesome for a single female or a female couple. Potential adopters will not be approved unless all of the above can be met. She needs nurturing, consistency and for this to be her Furever home. Her story from her current owner is in the comments.

I am tired of getting bullied by other rescues for helping people rehome their pets. It has been a disappointing few days of receiving horrible PM's from other rescues. I thought the point was to help save animals. Once I finish helping to facilitate the rehoming of the few dogs I have listed I will be done until I get all my ducks in a row. My intent was never to start a large rescue and take in thousands of dollars in donations and have a kennel that will hold 30+ dogs and have meet and greets at pet stores. I am not stealing dogs from other rescues so they are not losing money from me helping one dog at a time. Truthfully I am so disheartened by the words that have been leveled at me that I am not sure if I even want to do this at all. The few dogs I have helped rehome were denied help by every rescue they contacted so there only option was to surrender them to a shelter. There are dogs loved by their family who refused to take them to the pound. What are their options if rescues wont help? So, again I will not abandon the families I have committed to helping but after that I will be done for a while.

I am going to possibly make a run to Pittsburg County next week to pick up some fur babies. I would like to have some fosters set up so I have a place for them to go when we get back. Hopefully will be able to bring some small dogs and puppies back here to get adopted out. Foster Volunteers? Also, if anyone is looking to adopt and want a specific type of dog let me know. They have a ton to choose from. I can pull he or she and bring it back. Let's save some dogs!

Good Monday Morning Furever Family friends. We have a new addition the the rescue. Meet Jewels, a beautiful orange and white kitten. She is approximately 6 weeks old. She is currently being fostered and her foster mom says she loves to play and is super curious but when she wants to crash she wants to cuddle. She is available for adoption now. It appears that she has had a tail injury at some points because it has a kink but nothing gets her down. Please pm me if interested or for more details.

Meet Stripe! He is a gorgeous 1 year old aussie/golden retriever mix. Stripe is full of energy and loves to play. He is great with kids but will only be adopted to a family with kids older than 8 due to his exuberance playing. Just like all Aussies Stripe needs a job or someone who can keep him very active. He is very vocal and needs a large yard without close neighbors. He would be a great running buddy but needs obedience training. He would be an awesome dog for an active family. Meet Mia! Mia is a special girl who will need a special and understanding home. She had an accident when she was younger and jumped out of a window moving of a moving truck. She had a leg injury that was surgically fixed but sustained a head injury. She is just a little goofy and special. She is a full lab. More details in the comments.
