Scout is a black and white male. He is going to be 6 at the beginning of October.

Scout has been neutered. He is a calm dog that loves to be around his people. He will chase after a ball, but has not mastered bringing it back to you. He loves going on walks 🦮, hikes 🥾, and swimming 🌊. He loves the water, and will often splash in his water bowl.

Scout does not like people taking his food from him. He loves Nika, but is not a fan of other dogs. Scout is the most loving dog you will ever meet. 🥰 He will give kisses and will let you lay your head on him for hours. He is sweet and silly. He is a very quiet husky, but will “talk” to you occasionally! 🗣️

Nika is pure white, with beautiful blue eyes. 🩵 She is not spayed. Nika has a wonderful sense of emotions and will sit quietly with you for as long as you need her to. She loves to go on walks and hikes.

She does not like water and will try to avoid it as much as she can. She loves Scout and has not had any issues with other dogs, but has not been around them much. Nika is also turning 6, but at the very end of September. She is small and quiet. 🤫

Meet Rocky! 🤩 He is an energetic and playful pup who is looking for a new home. His current owners lifestyle is changing and they want to find him a loving family who can care for him properly. 🤎

Rocky will turn 2 on April 10th! 🎉He gets along well with cats and female dogs. He’s also good with other male dogs, as long as he can approach them first. He’s protective of his people! He will get pretty vocal when he needs to be played with. He can also get a little nippy while playing, but he won’t bite hard.

ARETE's mission is to enhance the quality of life for all dogs! We were just contacted about Rocky and his situation. He needs help quick, and YOU can help him by liking and sharing this post. We are hoping to find the right set of eyes to save Rocky. ❤️‍🩹🛟

Send a video or picture of your dogs transformation since training with us! for example; if your dog had a tendency to jump on visitors or bark at other dogs, show us how far they’ve come!

Training Tip!

Teaching your dog what TO do is equally as important as teaching your dog what NOT to do.

Teaching the correct behaviors should come before teaching your dog to stop incorrect behaviors. This way when you begin teaching what not to do, your dog will have an idea of what they should do instead.

This will also help to prevent your dog from choosing to engage in a different problem behavior, once taught what not to do, because they will already know what you expect from them.

📢This weeks challenge: put your dog in a stay and see how far you can go from them and also the amount of time they stay until you release/reward them. If you’re dog struggles with stay or is beginning, start with a short distance and short time, as they accomplish each level a few times, go a little further away and add a few more seconds. Make sure to reward them with their favorite thing like a treat, pats or toy, or ball, they will connect those things with good behavior and will listen to those commands. Remember to be patient, make it fun and stay consistent!

This is Ivy practicing obedience with heavy distractions. She stayed in a sit and a down while the kids ran past, ate snacks, and jumped on the tramp next to her. Great job Ivy! We love to see it!

We love when our clients send us pictures and videos of their dogs progress! Remember it is important to continue exercise even in the cold months so dress warm and wear those dogs out! I’ve discovered that playing fetch in the deep snow is a great way to wear out your furry friends! ❄️☃️

EMERGENCY!

We were just contacted by a local vet who had a dog get dropped off for a euthanization. The euthanizatuon is scheduled to be in 10 minutes. We are looking for anyone who may be willing to foster while we look for options of rehoming. It is a female cattle dog named Cocoa. There is a possibility of dog aggression, but that has not been confirmed.

This is Bentley, a few weeks back we shared a ring camera video of a bite incident with bentley. His progress has been outstanding!
Here is a review from the owner:
“Guess what?! He did it!!!! We had someone come to the door. I waited for Bentley to be calm. My husband went to get Bentley by collar I said no let go. We got this.
Waited for Bentley to show he was ready. I did open the door slowly and he stayed and did not dart out.
I went outside and talked with the person instead of coming
inside(plus my kitchen is torn apart and a mess). I gave him praise and a few treats!! I was not even nervous with trying. It was awesome. Sorry had to brag!!!”

Chickens are my favorite treat so it is best if my new family doesn't have any, I'm also not a fan of other dogs and i prefer to be the only one. I will require quite a bit of training because i like to guard my things but i also am very loving. With the right family and trainer i know i can be a great girl! Please help me find my forever family!

Note: due to her history with killing chickens it is recommended no kids in the home, she is not spayed, the one litter that she did have she was not a good mom so breeding is not for her.
