PIPER 🌼

“My heart hurts to list my girl for sale, but she needs someone who has more time for her. She is so incredibly loved. I started Piper on the ground when she was 2.5. She was born in southern Colorado and is papered. She is a more sport build Haflinger compared to the classic drafty build. She turned 8 in May. She stands at 14 hands tall. 📏

This mare has been amazing and so incredibly smart. From an untouched filly to a horse that will climb up a mountain side with a voice command. 🗻She will go wherever you direct her when you have a bond with her. I have ridden her mostly western, but have done some english riding in the arena and round pen. She was started under saddle at 3 with a rope hackamore and is very sensitive to leg and mouth pressure. I trained her to listen to voice command along with slight rein or leg pressure. She will go from a gallop to stop on a dime if you lean back a little and say woah. She is very comfortable and can go from extended trot to a slow jog with just shift of your body and voice. She needs someone with a light hand as she is very sensitive to pressure cues. 💙

Piper has been ponied A LOT over the years. We did more ponying when she was being started but she is a great little sidekick if you are on another horse on a trail or want to exercise two at a time. She is also ok with other horses being ponied from her if she knows them.😁

If you aren't familiar with the Haflinger breed, they are "in your pocket" horses. Very curious and goofy. They are like oversized puppies and always want to be included, especially if there's food involved. She has a little bit of a s***ky personality. All comical. She will hold her own in a herd of horses much bigger than her. She will not do well in a herd of senior horses because she likes to test limits with her friends and can be very playful. However, her best friend is my 21 year old mare who isn't yet at the fragile point in her life. Haflingers are known to be pushy and test limits because they are incredibly smart, but knowing this, I have always been strict with her and my personal space. She will back out of your space when told and she knows to give you space while being led.⭐️

She loads, bathes, ties, CAMPS! She will stand for the farrier as long as they are kind to her when she gets bored and needs to readjust. She will let you braid her hair especially if she gets to snack on hay. She lunges on a rope halter and free lunges in a round pen and is VERY intuned with her person. She will jump barrels (or anything, really) and can change direction on a dime while lunging free or on rope. I have used all natural horsemanship methods for her training. Never forced or harsh restraint. She is responsive to a flag, has done tarp training and some more ridiculous things I've thrown at her for fun. She could use a little refresher since it's been about a year since we've played in the arena and round pen. I ride her in a Level 1 Myler snaffle but she can also go in a hackamore or rope halter. She knows the neck reining concept, but could use more consistency as I was raised an english rider. 😉 Piper has worn front Backcountry Easy Boots, but never wore shoes. She has very hardy draft feet, but not too tough for a farrier to maintain.

Piper would be a good fit for a skilled beginner to advanced child or adult. I am an average build adult woman and she is the perfect fit. Haflingers are incredibly hardy and strong for their height! I have put beginner-ish adults on her a few times and she did great with them. Not sure how she would do with a brand new rider without being on a lead, but I imagine she would be amazing.💜

I love this amazing little horse. Piper is for sale to good homes ONLY. I am going to be very thorough with whomever buys her. I will be completely transparent, and I expect the same in return. Don't be surprised if I ask to visit where she will be living. She deserves the very best and right now I'm not able to give that to her. She bonds deeply with her human and horse friends. 💕

I am also selling her Cashel trail saddle (Haflingers can be hard to fit with saddles) and my extra tall two horse trailer. I also have Smartpak turnout/waterproof sheet and medium turnout blanket that I could sell with her. Both size 72". Please inquire if you are interested!

💙 LUCAS 💙

The epitome of a classic western, Lucas sports a dark buckskin coat and stands at an impressive 15.3 hands. His dappled gold is complemented by four black socks, a thick black mane and tail, and a refined head. We do not know the breeding history of Lucas due to a unique acquisition, but we feel confident he is an American Quarter Horse. 🇺🇸

Lucas has been ridden all over the midwest. The plains in Fort Robinson, The Rocky Mountains of Colorado, The Ozarks of Missouri, and the woods of Iowa, have all been enjoyed by Lucas and his riders. He is sure-footed, has a calm demeanor, and is incredibly thoughtful about how he handles himself on the trail. He Is not herd bound, will ride in the front, back or middle. Lucas will move out to keep up with the faster horses in the group and slow down for the slower riders in the back. He is easygoing, never kicks, jigs, rears, etc. Lucas makes his riders feel safe and confident and is a true joy to take out on the trail.

Lucas loves his people! He is the first to greet you at the gate and always makes sure to come to say hello when you are outside. His playful personality brings lots of giggles and laughs. He is as personable as a horse can be, sometimes seeming more human than a horse. Lucas has been exposed to all types of situations. He is unphased by bikers, ATVs, dirt bikes, shooting, tarps, other animals,… Lucas is well-behaved around other horses. He does not act aggressively or temperamental around other horses.

Lucas could go in any direction and will make a great horse for an intermediate to confident rider. I am available to answer any questions and would love to chat about Lucas with you. I am posting him on the auction site for three weeks to add videos, photos and allow for the maximum number of people to see him possible.
