An update from Andrew from Chips first Christmas!! 🎄 😻
02/12/2025
This Giving Tuesday consider supporting Love for Misfit Meeps!
We are working tirelessly to help the many stray, abandoned and discarded cats in Rochester, NY.
Our mission-to help as many as we possibly can, no matter what expenses are needed for them. To provide love and care for them, regardless of how much effort required.
100% of your Giving Tuesday donations will go towards medical care and upcoming surgeries needed for some of our foster kitties.
We have three kitties specifically that need help right now! The first, “Rocky” a beautiful long haired male came to us as a friendly stray, with horrible abscesses in his mouth. He is receiving a full dental work up and extractions December 4th.
The second, “Ember” just recently rescued from the freezing cold outside and sweet as could be, she unfortunately needs to have her eye completely removed due to previous blunt force trauma. We are waiting for the date on this being scheduled as she had an emergent appointment yesterday.
The third is “Wednesday” a very shy but sweet stray rescued with her three kittens. She is receiving medical care for what is suspected to either be a horrible case of heart failure or parasitic pneumonia. She is going for follow up lung x-rays on December 18 and has received a bloodwork panel to rule out heartworm and lung worm. We are hopeful as she has been on multiple antibiotics (specifically compounded for her) and is finally getting her appetite back.
All medical care will take place at Coldwater Animal Hospital!
Thank you for your love and support not just today but every day. We appreciate all of our followers, we appreciate every share, every comment, every Meep update, every Chewy donation, there is nothing that goes unnoticed-and we know we couldn’t do it without our supporters!!!
There are so many amazing rescues in this Rochester area, if you are able to, consider helping a mission that you believe in to help us get through these next trivial months.

🌟 NEW BONDED SIBLINGS FOR ADOPTION! 🌟
Meet Maxine (dilute tortie female) and El (black and white female)!!
These sweet girls are 8 months old, so very outgoing, sweet and friendly and well behaved. El loves to lick you and clean you, and Maxine likes to plop right at your feet and demand pets. They are very vocal, and when they meow they stick their little tongues out, it’s so cute!!! Maxine is very playful and loves to bat her toys all over the room. She pops out of the cat condos at her sister El who is normally the snuggly one cuddling with you on the couch. Once Maxine has her energy out she’s up for a long cuddle with you and her sister!
They would do well in any home but they must be adopted together as they are inseparable! We have lowered their adoption fee in order for them to find a home together.
💝 All of our kitties come fully vetted and health screened including, fixed, microchip, vaccines up to date, dewormed and flea treated, as well as combo tested!
**If you’ve adopted from us before no need to put in an additional application! Simply text Alanna at (585)-490-2458 or email [email protected]

🌟 Introducing new kitty for adoption! 🌟
Meet Marilyn!!
This vocal girl loves nothing more than to receive love and pets and talk to you! She is so very sweet and petite. She is about a year and a half so her adoption fee is discounted! She was abandoned outside when her “owners” moved, left with her red jingle bell collar where she cried outside her home for weeks beginning to be let back in.
She is a very independent girl, and while she does get along with the other kitties she prefers to be by herself. She never has any potty accidents and she is a very clean girl. She likes to curl up on little pillows to take her naps and is food motivated! Marilyn would be the most perfect companion and addition for anyone wanting a loyal friend.
💝 All of our kitties come fully vetted and health screened including, fixed, microchip, vaccines up to date, dewormed and flea treated, as well as combo tested!
These are two shy boys that clearly understand each other as they come from similar backgrounds. Both kitties were born outside from different areas, and are shy, but very sweet and easy to care for! They love sleep and good, and never have any accidents. Nugget curls up on his brother and sleeps on him like he’s a pillow. He kneads on his buttand Cheeto doesn’t care at all, and he lets him do whatever makes him feel better! Poor Nugget was the only one trapped of his four siblings and mom, unfortunately, the rest were not located.
Cheeto is about a year and a half old and Nugget is around 4 months.
They will need a calm and patient home as they will be shy to start. They are so cute and loving and deserve their happy ever after in a home to call their own.
Adoption fee lowered to $200 for the pair as we just want them to be adopted together!

Welcome our newest Meep-Dewey!
We received a plea for help for this sweet man. This is from the wonderful woman who cared and didn’t stop until she found a rescue with space for him!!
“He was found wandering the streets looking for food and someone to love. He’s an amazing cat with so much affection to give. When it starts to get cold I made a winter shelter for him to keep warm in and he just stayed where he knew where he would feel safe at.”
He is so happy to be inside and so very loving!!! He went to the vet this week to get all of his initial vaccines and combo testing (luckily negative!)
He will be available for adoption once vetting is complete.

Love for Misfit Meeps
This story starts with a beautiful handicapped kitty named MarciMeep. She was found in a garbage can at just three weeks old. Marceline was born with a unique brain condition, a form of cerebral hypoplasia, that caused her paralysis although she had feeling all over her body. She was able to move her neck, head, back legs slightly and her tail. She loved meowing, eating, and above all, giving and receiving love. Alanna received a call about her and immediately went to pick her up, while her condition was completely unknown at this time. The two were bonded upon first look.
Alanna took her to many vets to asses her condition and ensure quality of life. Most vets suggested euthanasia at just three weeks old as “her life would be nothing but gradual suffering” and was given a life expectancy of no more than six months. Alanna took her to Cornell Veterinary Hospital and was assured that Marci was not in any pain and with proper care could live a very comfortable life, although projected to be shorter than most other cats. Throughout the duration of Marci’s life she needed constant care, and precise attention to her needs and wants. Alanna owns her own grooming business (Furry Paws Pet Salon in Spencerport, NY) so she was able to bring her to work every day with her. Her routines included assisted feedings of canned food and water, lots of bath clean ups after going to the bathroom (she did have control of this), and most importantly constant love, snuggles and kisses. Alanna provided her with one on one attention all day, every single day, because that is exactly what Marci deserved as all special needs animals deserve. They all deserve to be given a chance, regardless of the severity of their condition, as long as they are not in pain or suffering.
Marci absolutely loved her life, and she exuded it to everyone that had the privilege of meeting her. She passed away at three and a half years old from suspected lung cancer, and diagnosed pneumonia. There were so many characteristics that made her uniquely “her” from her little tongue blep to her intense and bright green eyes. She impacted and inspired everyone that heard her story, and will continue to do so. As the founder of this cat rescue, it is my hope that through Marci’s legacy, we will save the lives of those that are considered “not adoptable” and give them all beautiful and happy lives by finding them their perfect forever homes. We must be the voice for the voiceless.
Love for Misfit Meeps is recognized as a not-for-profit cat rescue in New York State. Alanna has the dream of saving cats from Verona Street Animal Shelter in Downtown Rochester that are disabled or special needs, those that have been at the shelter for a long duration and those that are next in line for euthanasia.
Marci’s ability to inspire and legacy will continue with every single life we save.
