This wonderful barn is undergoing a transformation! It’s going from utilitarian to a stunning wedding and event venue! I was asked to remove the garage door and replace it with carriage style doors in its place.

Chased the rot, found the good and put it all together again ! Up next will be properly flashed kick plate and deck tie in.

Padauk and Maple pencil box!! Hand cut, dovetail joinery . Never had anything this fancy in school!!!

The spline mitered curly maple and Padauk accented urn is finished! Super happy with the way this turned out. Padauk is an interesting wood to work with. It’s very porous and absorbs the finish, creating an event of multiple coats beyond what the curly maple called for. Next time I’ll start with a sanding sealer and then move onto top coats. This particular urn is headed to a wonderful family. IT has been a pleasure to build. Thank you for looking.

The Padauk splines will be trimmed back offering a decorative inlay feature to the box! Guaranteed to pop against the curly maple for sure! Bottom and top will be next in line as this project moves along!
