Friday Training Recap 🐾

Ruby and Arch have been putting in the work this week! From practicing obedience around distractions at the store, to working around other dogs, and getting out into new environments, we’re focused on building reliable skills that carry over into everyday life.

Training isn’t just about what happens in the backyard. It’s about teaching dogs how to listen, stay focused, and make good choices wherever life takes them.

🐾 Training Tip: Slowly Introduce Your Dog to New Environments

One of the best ways to build a confident, well-rounded dog is to slowly introduce them to new environments. New places come with different sights, sounds, smells, surfaces, and distractions, and giving your dog time to experience them at their own pace helps prevent them from becoming overwhelmed.

Start simple, keep your dog focused, and gradually increase the level of distractions as they become more comfortable. These small, consistent experiences can make a big difference in your dog’s overall confidence and obedience.

🎒🐾 BACK TO SCHOOL = BACK TO ROUTINE! 🐾🎒

As the kids head back to school, it’s a great time to get your dog back into a structured daily routine too!

Consistent place commands, calm behavior in the house, crate time, and clear expectations can make a huge difference when the family schedule gets busy again. These two are working on learning that being calm and holding their place is just as important as getting out and having fun!

At Cross Rifle K9, we work with dogs and families to build obedience, structure, and better communication that carries over into everyday life.

🐾 Welcome to the Pack, Arch! 🐾

We’re excited to welcome Arch to Cross Rifle K9 for his 3-Week Board & Train Program!

Arch’s owners have already done a fantastic job laying the foundation, and it definitely shows. He has a great start, and over the next three weeks we’ll be building on that foundation by advancing his obedience, improving reliability around distractions, strengthening his manners, impulse control, and helping him become an even more confident, well-rounded companion.
