"MEL" WEBER...OWNER ...UPDATE ON JOE.

I have an update on Joseph Ferraro...he is our trainer that many know. After almost a month of being hospitalized Joe has been released. His hospitalization involved just about everything that could kill you. I'll just list a few...

Sever pneumonia in his right lung...
Heart arithmia..
Sepsis, which without treatment would have killed him in 6 hours...
Temperature up to 105.6....
Extreme delirium, caused by toxins from the bacteria and the heavy sedation...
Induced coma and life support with the inhalation machine that was breathing for him, all lasting for weeks...

Anyway, he made it through all of this! One friend commented that he should get a tattoo that says "HARD TO KILL". SO TRUE. He has a lot of work in front of him to build back muscle...he lost 45 pounds throughout all of this. He will succeed. For anyone looking to board or train with Joe, he is fully back and ready to work. We also have two other trainers here as well. Thankyou everyone who reached out with their concerns, prayers and love ❤️. I, more than Joe (he was in a coma for most of the time) felt surrounded by his friends, whom I don't even know, but felt a great comfort in your messages...Thank you for your support 💕.

This is a clients two dogs with my pit puppy , I socialize all off my dogs this way , the two boxer mixes were off leash trained by me , so I know these dogs all of our boarding dogs stay in my front room with me and are taught to behave in the crates and how to socialize with other dogs of the same temperament.. it works for me but then again I run a pretty tight ship when it comes to no dog aggression or reactivity

FROM ONE OF OUR CLIENTS TODAY =Any of my Madison friends looking for a dog trainer?!?! Look no further!

Josh and I have been struggling with Hope's behavior, especially as the pandemic seemed to heighten many issues. We have finally been seeing results because of Precision Canine Training and Joseph Peter Ferraro. These past few weeks I have watched Hope, a very skiddish and overprotective dog, turn into a much more confident and attentive doggo.

Yesterday we worked with Hope at the corner of our property (across from a busy park, cars driving by, bikers, and people with dogs consistently passing). I could not believe the difference of her demeanor. We had a dog barking at her in a car 20 feet away and she still consistently gave Joe her attention. Precision Canine Trainings motto is completely right, Joe has been teaching us how to speak canine!

I cannot even begin to describe how excited I am for future walks and outings with Hope now. Thank you so much Joe for working with us, even if you did also turn Hope into a hot dog loving machine!

I like to try and accommodate all of my clients, what’s most important to me is the safety of my clients dogs , where I house them , making sure they are comfortable and feel safe in my home with my dogs and other clients dogs . Having dogs uneasy and nervous is not the right condition for training especially the smaller breeds … so like I said my first concern is my clients puppy or dog .

One of the most common post-training mistakes...

That pulling, pushy, reactive dog comes back from training and is walking like a champ. You can’t believe it. The heel is SO much better and so much more enjoyable.

So...

What’s a little creep forward? What’s a little push? What’s a little rule breaking? Compared to the old heel this is heaven.

And that my friends is precisely how you get back to heeling hell. One tiny allowance at a time. Give those allowances a few weeks or months, and boom, you’re right back to that heel you so dreaded.

I get that it’s so much better. I get that it feels so good by comparison. But I promise that if you enjoy the new heeling the only way you keep that heel is to be meticulous and demanding in your requirements—the same way your trainer was, and the precise reason you’ve got this beautiful heel now.

Don’t fall for the easiest post-training mistake. That new heel won’t keep itself. Only you and your daily, consistent effort will.

Buy the STUFF First, Not the Dog

Dogs are very bad Christmas gifts -- it a time of too much chaos, too many ornaments to eat, too much impulse buying, too many relatives, and not enough planning.

And remember, you are you are not getting a puppy -- you are getting a DOG, and a lifetime obligation that will never stop needing time, attention, and money.

Instead of buying a puppy to put under the tree, go to a pet store and buy all the stuff you will need for the dog: 2-3 leashes, an expanding collar, a set of engraved slide tags, at least two crates, dog food, brushes, dog chews, shampoo, a dog bed, a book or two on dog training, a training cot, and a big lump of money for fencing, dog doors, vaccines, and checkups.

Then, after Christmas, start going through Pet Finder to find the perfect "rescue" dog, or a young adult dog held back by a breeder as a possible show prospect.

Not interested in a dog that is 4 months to a year old? Then you need to re-evaluate. You are *never* getting a puppy, and *always* getting a dog. If you want a puppy, not a dog, there’s a good chance you haven’t thought it through.
