Happy to say after a bit of a hiatus due to life challenges, I should be rebuilding my collection a bit and getting back into the game again.

Life throws curveball at us unexpectedly sometimes, have to make sacrifices, but it'll be good to be back!

I have alot of projects planned and hope to get the new snake room up and running. 🐍

Getting ready to wrap the year up. Things are mostly settled after the big move, and one later batch of eggs hatching this week for 2021.

In the process of moving, delays to Morph Market updates and slower replies to be expected. Moving is never an easy task with this many animals! Have eggs in the incubator that need to be carefully moved, but I will get updated posts on some remaining 2021 animals in a few weeks.

I had an first time complication with one of the hatchlings coming out of the egg today. She was in a small egg and had a knot in her umbilical cord with a mass attached. These things can happen in the egg sometimes.

It was a choice between letting nature take its course or attempting to very carefully cut and tie the umbilical cord in hopes it would save the hatchling. This was my first time doing it, but I managed to get it cut and tied off.

Things weren’t looking good after the fact though. She was as lifeless as could be and started breathing weirdly for a few hours afterwards. While she was still alive, I didn’t suspect she’d make it past the afternoon.

This evening rolled around and I looked in on the tub. She was breathing normally and moving about the tub with the others who had emerged from their eggs. While still a little sluggish, she seems almost normal now.

It’s hard to say if she will survive the next few weeks, but she seems like a fighter for sure. She got her warm bath and placed with her siblings in their shedding tub. Definitely has more energy and life in her now.

I am curious to see how she progresses from here, and if she survives. It was an interesting experience though, and one I wanted to share. I didn’t get any pictures to document the process unfortunately, as I was just concerned with her well being; getting pictures didn’t cross my mind at the time.
