Acupuncture Point: 📍📍 Bai-Hui (pronounced bye-hway). This acupuncture point is another permission point (see my post of placement on GV-20 on Franklin from last week). A permission point is placed to show the patient what is about to happen. It also allows me to gauge how the individual will accept treatment as these points are usually the most accepted. Bai-hui is also used for lumbosacral pain, intervertebral disk disease, hip pain, abdominal pain, and it even helps with diarrhea. What doesn't this point do, am I right? It's one of my favorite points and you'd be hard pressed to find a patient that I don't use it on.

Placement of the first permission point on Franklin. Not all animals react the same way to needle placement, but they usually react better than we think they will. Franklin went on to have a full session sitting in my lap. Kicking off 2024 with #walkyourdog month! Walking your dog is important for not only their physical health, but for their mental health as well! Dogs with anxiety especially benefit from the social and physical stimulation of extra walks. Some dogs even bond more with the person that walks them over the person that feeds them-that's how important it is.
If you are like me, it's also a great way to shed those extra #holidaypounds that we might have accumulated 😅😉
So let's get out and start the habit of walking for ourselves and our dogs! #walkyourdog #mobilevet #2024 #integrativevet #magnoliahomevet
As our cats age, they can develop arthritis just like dogs. Here is a before and after of my own cat, Mogley (16). She receives regular Solensia injections and acupuncture treatments to help manage her pain. Our cats deserve to be as comfortable as possible as they age!! #integrativevet #mobilevet #veterinaryacupuncture #catpainmanagement #Louisianaveterinarian
Squeaky toys! Why do dogs love them so much? Aside from being just plain fun, they satisfy some important instincts for the dog.
1. Their instinct to chew. We all know that dogs love to chew, and squeaky toys have a give that that allows them to chew on it over and over again.
2. Their prey drive. This will be stronger in some dogs than others, but the squeaking mimics injured prey--allowing the dog to feel like the predator that they know they are 😉
What's your dog's favorite toy?

Mogley has a water constitution. Water animals are generally more timid and fearful. All the constitutions (see my post from 3-20 on five element theory) have their pros/cons, but water animals have a special place in my heart. #tcvmvet #integrativevet #mobilevet
