If you care about the over crowding in the shelters and rescues across our nation right now, you might want to very carefully consider how you vote this fall. Pets are very often the first casualties of a crappy economy. If people have to decide between a pet and their children or paying the rent, the pet is going to be the one to suffer. Think about how much you are spending today on groceries and gasoline and where you were four years ago. Vote carefully if you hate knowing how many pets are being surrendered and are being euthanized every day.

Letting the dogs out on this rainy morning; as I let them back into the garage, it occurred to me that once again they have a lesson to share - they just shake off the bad weather and go on with life looking forward to the next good thing - in this case, breakfast. They bound into the house with wagging tails knowing the next thing they encounter will be good. We need to be more like our dogs. ❤️

This is extremely frightening and would have a severely detrimental effect on preservation/hobby breeders who put their heart and soul into producing healthy, stable puppies!

PLEASE contact your representatives to encourage their opposition. As breeders we cannot fight the anti breeding agrnda alone!

A bill to allow the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) to circumvent USDA animal experts in enforcing federal breeder licensing and potentially undermine the current hobby breeder exemptions for USDA licensing is gaining traction in Congress.

Tissue alert…

Love me but let me go...

In the twilight of my days, I feel the world differently, the scent of memories lingering in the air like familiar ghosts. The once sprightly steps have softened into a gentle pace, and the twinkle in my eyes mirrors the countless tales etched upon my soul.

I sense their gaze, my human's eyes reflecting a blend of love and sorrow. I feel the warmth of their touch, a delicate acknowledgment of the shared journey that stretches back through the corridors of time. In the creases of their furrowed brow, I decipher the silent dialogue—an intimate conversation tethered by a thread of devotion.

The sun-dappled moments of our youth replay in the theatre of my mind. The laughter that echoed in the fields, the bounding leaps that painted the canvas of our joy—I hold them close, like treasures in the chest of a bygone era. Yet, there's a knowing, an unspoken understanding that whispers through the rustle of leaves—we've reached a poignant juncture.

Pain, like a subtle undertow, tugs at the edges of my being. I catch the worry in their eyes, the gentle strokes tinged with a bittersweet tenderness. Their hands cradle my weary frame, each touch a love letter written in the language of touch—a language that transcends words, a silent promise to navigate this inevitable farewell.

I sense the uncertainty in their hesitations, the unspoken question that hangs heavy in the air. "Is it time?" they wonder, their gaze a mixture of hope and heartache. As their confidant through seasons of life, I wish I could reassure them, ease the burden that weighs upon their shoulders. If only I could convey that the love we've woven is an eternal thread, and that letting go is an act of profound love.

In the quiet moments, I feel a gratitude that surpasses the limitations of canine expression. Gratitude for the shared sunsets, the whispered secrets carried by the wind, and the sanctuary of their unwavering presence. As they wrestle with the decision, I find solace in the fact that our bond is not confined to the ticking of the clock—it transcends the boundaries of time and space.

And so, in the gentle embrace of their arms, I surrender to the ebb and flow of life. I feel their tears fall like the gentlest rain, each drop a testament to the symphony of emotions that bind us. As I embark on this final journey, I carry with me the echoes of our shared adventures—the laughter, the tears, and the silent whispers of a love that endures, even in the silence of goodbye.

Bravecto, Bravecto Plus, Nexgard, Simparica, Simparica Trio, Credelio, Revolution Plus all contain Isoxazoline which is a neurotoxin! ☠️

It is only supposed to be toxic to the parasites however, data is showing the toxicity is NOT limited to parasites and we are seeing many adverse reactions in dogs and cats.

Some adverse reactions that my clients have seen include:
• Aggression
• Personality changes
• Seizures
• Disorientation
• Wobbling or unstable gate
• Sensitivity to touch
• Abnormal vocalizations
• Urinary or f***l incontinence
• Death
I have seen these adverse reactions happen immediately after administration, but I have also worked with cases where the pet parent noticed these reactions days, weeks, or even months later. Sometimes the reactions don’t occur until multiple doses of the medication have been given.

AVOID THIS DRUG!

ATTENTION Pet Parents!

A chemical used in Milk-Bones, Ol’Roy, Kibbles’n Bits, Hill’s Pet Food and other pet foods should no longer be considered safe for consumption due to concerns about its ability to damage DNA according to a new animal-model study.

According to the Environmental Working Group: “A scientific panel created by the European Food Safety Authority found that titanium dioxide “can no longer be considered as safe when used as a food additive.” The panel, citing concerns about titanium dioxide’s genotoxicity, or its ability to damage DNA, based its conclusion on a review of hundreds of scientific studies. EWG called on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to quickly consider whether to ban titanium dioxide from use in food."

A chemical that may damage our pet's DNA should not be fed to pets.

Titanium dioxide is on The Forever Dog’s Dirty Dozen list of additives you need to avoid in your pet food. www.ForeverDog.com/about

We will soon be in the season. Things to remember...

BRAVECTO, NEXGARD AND SIMPARICA chewable tablets that are given to kill fleas and ticks, these tablets contain a pesticide called ISOXAZOLINE.
The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) has issued alerts, warning owners of the potential danger.
Isoxazoline causes neurological adverse reactions and dogs have died from these tablets.
THINK ..... Is it really worth playing the lottery with your dog's life???

Veterinary Medicine & Science Journal Peer-Reviewed Paper -

Out of the 2,751 respondents: When any flea🦟 treatment💊💦 (Bravecto, Nexgard, Simparica) was given to dogs🐶, 66.6% of respondents experienced a REACTION to the treatment.

"On September 20, 2018, the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued a warning that the following flea and tick medications have caused adverse events in dogs and cats such as muscle tremors, ataxia and seizures:

Bravecto (fluralaner) tablets for dogs;
Bravecto (fluralaner) topical solution for cats and dogs;
Nexgard (afoxalaner) tablets for dogs; and,
Simparica (sarolaner) and Simparica Trio (sarolaner/moxidectin/pyrantel) tablets for dogs.
All of these medications are in the isoxazoline class of compounds. Isoxazoline is a parasiticide.

The FDA worked with manufacturers of isoxazoline products to include new label information to highlight neurologic events because these events were seen consistently across the isoxazoline class of products.

Two additional drugs that are also in the isoxazoline class had recently received FDA approval and carry the warning on their labels:

Credelio (lotilaner) tablets for dogs; and,
Revolution Plus (selamectin and sarolaner topical solution) for dogs and cats." - Hemopet

The Best family had a devastating start to New Year's when their Chocolate Lab puppy suffocated in a chip bag, simply crushing them. Brian Best shares, "I write to you this morning with a very heavy heart. I awoke New Year’s Day morning to the horrific sight of my poor Scout’s head fully covered in a potato chip bag and his lifeless body on our living room floor. He had got into it at some point during the night and when I found him it was already too late. My family including my 3 young kids awoke on New Year’s Day to the sound of me screaming and panicking trying to figure out what happened and what to do…unfortunately at this point there was nothing I could do to try to save our sweet Scout. He was only 9 months old!!!

We never heard about this and I’m so sad/angry/frustrated that through personal experience we had to find out just how this crazy circumstance could happen. Every person we shared this with was also unaware - so we are relieved that at least those friends we talked to are now aware but are destroyed that we had to go through the experience to be able to make others aware.

We are obviously heartbroken that we had to say goodbye to our buddy…on New Year’s Day of all days. He leaves behind a loving family of 5 and his buddy Roxie who was so distraught yesterday as well. So while I continue to grieve and wrap my head around this, I’m writing to you to join your fight to make sure everyone is aware of this potential risk and the tragedy that comes with it. I don’t want to see anyone else ever have to go through such a horrific experience. Thank you for what you do!"

Losing a puppy to pet suffocation is so painful - a new life gone too soon, especially at the start of a hopeful new year. Please continue to spread awareness - as many people as we do reach, it's still a big world, and we have to keep getting the word out on how to prevent pet suffocation. Thank you!
