This handsome ball of fluff is Yukon! At least Yukon for now…his owner isn’t totally sold on his name so if you have name suggestions feel free to share them and I’ll share them with Yukons owner.

Anyway, for those that recognize him Yukon is formally known as Kyko from the local shelter here in Star Valley. His owner knew she wanted him trained so she adopted him and literally brought him straight to me 🙂❤️. He is a two year old Alaskan Malamute probably mixed with something and definitely sweet as can be along with super smart…anyway as always I’ll do my best to keep y’all updated on his journey but no promises 😂🤦‍♀️.

Tulsa and Lula had a day at the Spaw and are now fresh and fluffy! Brooke and her staff are hands down the best at Spaw Day Grooming and Pet Salon ❤️ and look at their cute 4th of July bandannas 😍.

Let's talk about this photo. It's cute, except it's not. I see a dog who cannot get up without telling the child to get off. How do you think a dog is going to do that?

The 7 Golden Toddler Dog Rules:
#1: If a dog walks away from you, you DO NOT FOLLOW.
#2: Always leave room for the dog to walk away from you.
---that right there is 90+% of dog bites eliminated---
#3: We do not climb on the dog.
#4: We do not grab or pull on the dog.
#5: We do not hit or throw anything at the dog.
#6: We do not touch the dog's food.
#7: We do not go into the dog's kennel.

I promise these are not overly difficult concepts for littles, nor will they rob a kid of their bond with the family dog. It will deepen that bond, while keeping everyone safe.

"Oh, it looks like Moose is walking away from you. She is saying she wants a break. Let's play with this instead!"

"It's Moose's dinner time! Let's give her space to enjoy her yummies."

"That is Moose's room(kennel) and only she is allowed to go in there."

"If Moose wanted a break, could she walk away from you right now? No she really couldn't. Let's move away from the play house. You can keep playing but now she can leave when she wants a break."

In conclusion, ***parent your child or your dog will do it for you, and you will not like how they do it.***

Meet the first two week board and train dog of 2024 Roscoe! This sweet little dude is 11 years old and a chihuahua mix. Yes they can still be ecollar trained at 11 🙂. His owner wants a reliable recall, be able to walk him with tripping over him and without him pulling on the leash…my goal really is to be on top of updating better so keep an eye out for Roscoe’s journey!

Lula went to school today! Haha for Bens birthday show and tell he wanted me to bring Lula in and Lula loved every minute of it. She would have stayed to be loved on for forever 😂. Needless to say she was a hit for sure with the kids and teachers.

Two week board and train openings available! If you’re wondering what happens at a two week board and train here’s a general breakdown:
• Your pup comes and lives with me for two weeks
• Your pup will learn the E Collar “language” with a Mini Educator from ecollar technologies. Low levels are used for training.
• Your pup will become off leash reliable after about a week (give or take a couple of days depending on the dog).
• General obedience is taught- come, sit, down, heel, place along with learning how to just relax and exist in public and home.

Right now I have two more spots available for this summer. If you are interested please contact me! Your training spot will not be guaranteed until the deposit is received.

*Please note I DO NOT take people aggressive dogs. The general house pup that needs some training is my jam. Also, this program requires continued training at home from you the owner…if you the owner are not willing to put in the work on changing how you live with your dog then this program isn’t going to help you much.*

My final dog of 2023 was this beautiful girl, Charlie. Charlie was your typical rambunctious pup just extra large being a Great Dane. Once the rules were laid down and she was held accountable to following those rules she became quite pleasant 🙂. Here is her highlight video from day one until she went home (2 weeks).

Miss Oakley was with me back in October and she was your classic definition of hyper pup 😂❤️. However after teaching her commands and holding her accountable keeping those commands she became really quite pleasant. Her owner was preparing for a long road trip so Oakley practiced being in the car a lot, both in the crate and out of the crate. She also worked a lot on staying in place even with cats walking around since she lived with cats as well. Oakley is still doing awesome because her awesome owner is keeping up with the training after she went home 😁.

Meet Charlie! This beautiful girl is a one year old Great Dane who is here for a two week board and train…she actually is my last training dog for 2023 ❤️. Charlie is a sweetheart but a little too rambunctious so we’ll be focusing a lot on just chilling and doing nothing.

This beautiful golden retriever girl is Milos (Me-los). She’s here for a two week board and train from Jackson. While Milos is a huge sweetheart there are some behaviors that need to be tweaked and address…particularly coming when called. Anyway, Miss Milos is smart and catching on quick!

All 2023 Board and Train spots have been taken. I’m currently working on 2024 spots so stay tuned!

Also with rising costs and having two part time jobs, starting in 2024 the two week board and train will now be $2200 with $500 of that being a non refundable deposit to secure your spot. Puppy lessons will also now be $500. All tools are included in the price.

I get asked quite often “how do I get my dog to stop p*eing in the house/chewing on things/escaping out the door/stealing food/barking out the window and etc.” The answer is to do three things:

1. Crate train your dog
2. Keep them on a leash and with you in the house
3. Teach them the place command

It will not be a 30 second overnight fix…your dog will resist at first but if you stick with it and don’t let them get away with nonsense they’ll catch on (usually in a day or two…some dogs can take longer but it’s okay). Teaching place take initial effort but is such a life changing command. Crate training again takes initial effort but is life changing. You’ll have a calmer dog and your house won’t be destroyed! You’ll save on vet bills and have an enjoyable pup 🙂.

Oakleys downtown walk! When she first got here this walk would have been impossible because she would get so excited over everything and then sometimes p*e everywhere from excitement. But since we worked on not only obedience but also her mindset we had an awesome walk in the remaining warm weather 😁👏. Good job Oakley!

This cute girl is Oakley! She is a 6 month old mutt pup here for a two week board and train. Her owner actually took my puppy lessons about a month ago but wants her ecollar trained as well along with having her listen better and learn to chill. Anyway, as always I’ll do my best to share her journey but I make no promises 😂🤷‍♀️.

Also I call her Oakley dokely

About this time of year 11 years ago I brought home a huge, rambunctious, slobbery lab mix dog from the shelter in Sevier county. I named him Joey ❤️.

Over the years we created memories, went on a lot of adventures, made me laugh, acquired a few new nicknames (Joseph and old man Joey) and tried very hard to convince me he was a lap dog. Joey was incredibly patient with cats, kids and other training dogs. He helped me through tough times.

Today I had to make the very hard decision to help him move on. This is the part of pet ownership that sucks but after finding him this morning in the shed I knew. I’m gonna miss him pushing open the door with his head, finding him curled up with cats, him on his place bed in the house and just him overall.

Thank you Joey Boy for all you gave me and my family…love ya big guy now go say hi to Bailey for me 🥺❤️.

If you were filling out an application for yourself and it asked your ethinicity... you would not answer Rescue even if you were adopted.
Dog owners...
Rescue is NOT a breed... and also not an excuse, a storyline, or a signalling of how virtuous you are.
As trainers we need to know the breed or a best guess that we will be preparing to work with. At a minimum just state "mixed breed".

From the first day both Tulsa and Lula came home I corrected behavior, crate trained them and ecollar trained them once old enough. I do not have a big house at all and I don’t do roaming dogs in my house (which leads to bigger problems anyways). Sooki went home a bit ago and I just now got her highlight video put together 😂🤷‍♀️. This is a snapshot of her two week journey with me and it’s pretty fun to watch. When she came to me she pulled like a freight train and would run up to everything (especially other dogs). At the end of the two weeks she was a pleasure to walk and had awesome manners out in public. So if you have a little time watch Snooki’s journey from start to finish. These two pups are 4 years old (Tulsa) and 5 months old (Lula). We went out in an 80 acre field for a horse ride and I was able to control them. Since the day Lula came home I have been teaching her the boundaries I require along with making come a non negotiable command using a long leash. Now that Lula is 5 months I’ve taught her to come when she hears the beep on the ecollar…I have done the steps needed to make myself relevant to her so she listens and Tulsa has been fully ecollar trained since she was 6 months old. My training program isn’t for everyone and neither is the $1800 price tag and that’s fine. All that said remember that your training spot IS NOT secured until the non refundable deposit has been paid. Puppy tip…tie a string/piece of twine/leash to a toy for your puppy. This helps keep hands and a biting mouth away from each other, keeps the toy “alive” and is a great low energy way for the owner to play with their high energy puppy 😂👏 #puppies #puppytraining #puppytips

Zeus’ week two highlights! This boy worked hard and was great while out in public this past week 👏. In the second week the training dogs go just about everywhere that I can think of to take them to to practice because we want to be able to do that with our dogs! Zeus is home now and his owners are excited to keep up the training to keep his word wide open ❤️.

Week 1 highlights of Zeus! He’s come a long way from living in his own world to listening and learning how to live in this human world…good work Zeus! Also if anyone has been thinking about doing the board and train to get their dog summer ready, my next open spot is May 21-June 4! I won’t be training again until July 23-August 6 and that’s all I’m able to do this summer…reach out if interested

Bevy is home now ready to live her best life! That said here’s some highlights from her first week of training 🙂🐶

I’m going to do Titan’s videos a little different where I’ll show the progression of each command that dogs are taught while with me. This progression is heeling 🙂. Titan wasn’t a big puller but you can see at the beginning he liked to try and push to be a little ahead of me. I teach dogs to walk with me, at my speed and be paying attention to me. I don’t allow them to sniff, potty, wander aimlessly by me and etc while in heel. This eliminates pulling and any reactivity (one learned of course…it’s a process that takes a lot of practice). By the end of the video you see him keeping his head with my leg and watching my leg. This is taught with low level ecollar pressure (4-8 in Titans case) and a prong or pinch collar. Once dogs learn heel they can be walked anywhere 😁….even the big pullers.

I know my videos may not seem the most exciting and what not but I share them to not only show off the progress of dogs I’m training (because they work hard while with me) but to try and show that the majority of training takes place while just living life and teaching them how to live in a human world in a way that allows dogs to live in the fullest way possible. Klaus has been with me since Sunday and he’s learned to come, heel, not rush out an open door and to no chase cats. But here’s the real kicker…all of this is practiced everyday and will need to be practiced everyday even after he goes home…its a lifestyle and not just one time training 🙂.

The first week is ALOT of learning for dogs…Klaus here is learning to Kennel Up, Come, Sit and Down Stay, Place and Heel. Along with all of that as well is the mindset shifting to listening instead of just doing whatever he wants and that in turn calms a dog down as well. Yay Klaus 👏👏👏

Here’s Milo’s highlight video! Milo was here in October and as a refresher he is a Mini Australian Shepard and was 9 months at the time he was with me. When he came to me, as with every juvenile dog, he was oblivious to humans around him and was in his own Milo world doing what he wanted when he wanted. However with structure, accountability and some obedience training he turned out to be quite the gentleman 😊🐶 I am booking for this next year!
