I am hosting a Nose Work seminar with Rachelle Bailey-Austin on Monday August 5th. I have a few working and auditing spots available.

Moving on from Hides and Teamwork
Training goals: Help teams move on from a hide and increase handler awareness of how we are positively OR negatively influencing our dog while searching.

Rachelle Bailey-Austin
Rachelle has always had dogs, Poodles and Poodle mixes, a Rough Collie, German Shepherds, a Papillon and currently Belgian Sheepdogs. She has been involved in the world of dogs since High School going to dog shows with her sister who showed and bred German Shepherds.

She is a CNWI, NACSW Certifying Official, NACSW Judge and NACSW Trial Host. She has been a professional dog trainer using positive reinforcement for the past 26 plus years. She strongly believes in continuing education and regularly attends seminars to keep up her chops in K9 behavior. She owns About Face K-9 Academy in Olympia, WA. and teaches K9 Nose Work® classes.

She lives with her wonderful husband, Ed, and 2 Belgian Sheepdogs. She has been showing in conformation for the past 20 plus years. Her dog’s accomplishments include a Belgian Sheepdog National Specialty Best of Breed, National Specialty Winner’s Bitch, National Specialty Best of Opposite S*x, Multiple National Specialty Award of Merit and Selects, Multiple Breed Group placements, AKC All Breed Best in Show and Best of Breed at the Westminster dog show. Her dogs have also held rally and obedience titles.

Her main focus now is the amazing activity and sport of K9 Nose Work®. Phoenix is currently working on his Elite 1 title and has L2I, L2V, L1C and L1E titles.
She and her training partner Dorothy Turley, CNWI co-host 4-6 NACSW K9 Nose Work® trials per year.

Morning Session is from 8am-12pm
Afternoon Session is from 1:30pm-5:30pm

Cost: Working Spot: $100/per 1 dog/1 handler team, Auditing Only Spot (no dog): $50. Limited to 9 working spots.

Please bring a kennel for your dog as the dogs must be crated when not working. Water and snacks will be provided. If you are doing both sessions please bring a sack lunch. There will be a porta potty available.

For those that are competing this weekend in Brainerd for the NW1/NW2 it will be hot. There is some parking in the shade but it is limited. We do however plan to be done by noon or 1pm at the latest I hope. Please plan for the heat.
