Chihuahua Joins Wolf Pack Caught on Camera

In Ely, Minnesota, locals were used to a scrappy stray chihuahua roaming the streets. Despite his size, he carried himself like he owned the town—friendly, but fearless. Then one day, after more than a year of sightings, he suddenly disappeared. With wolves moving closer to town, many assumed he’d been eaten.

But a month later, a farmer’s trail camera revealed the truth. The missing chihuahua wasn’t gone—he was trotting confidently with a wolf pack. When a wolf expert was asked how this was possible, he laughed and said, “I’ve met many wolves and a few Chihuahuas, and I was always more scared of the Chihuahuas”

Five years later, I’m so grateful for the pets I’ve cared for, the people who’ve trusted me, and the community that’s been with me every step of the way. Bentley is still missing. We're asking everyone in Marlboro Twp and all surrounding areas to please check RING cameras. Bentley is a highly skittish dog and would likely be traveling/looking for food very discreetly.

Please, DO NOT CHASE OR ATTEMPT to CATCH HIM.

Please also note: ALL LOST DOG RECOVERY PROTOCOLS ARE IN PLACE. That includes Flyers up and areas expanded daily, police in all surrounding municipalities notified, community email blasts sent, PawBoost and social media on over 32 sites updated, drones utilized, food drops, cameras, trap ready to go when needed, etc.

🐾 Volunteer Dog Walkers Needed!

Love dogs? Want to make a difference in the lives of animals? Help our dogs stay happy and healthy while they wait for forever homes by giving them some exercise and companionship. Spending time with volunteers provides the dogs with socialization and proves to be a very rewarding experience! 🐾🐶

You must be 21 years old and comfortable working with dogs of different sizes and breeds. We mostly have medium to large size dogs. You will be required to attend hands on training sessions until you are ready to be on your own. We ask volunteers to commit to walking at least once a week for a 3 hour shift.

Volunteers are needed during the week and on Sundays between 9-12. We have a monthly schedule that you can pick the days that you are available.

If interested, please go to www.volauxrescuenj.org and fill out the volunteer application. Someone will be in touch with you to set up an orientation.

This may be a shock to absolutely nobody… but my Tommy is officially a “foster fail” 🐾💙

As many of you might know by now, I lost my soul dog, Dolce, tragically on my birthday this past March. It broke me in a way I still can’t even explain. But deep down, I had a strong feeling he would send me another dog with his same sweet spirit.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And then came Tommy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
He’s brought so much light, comfort, and that same loving energy that made me fall in love with Dolce years ago. He helped me heal, and he helped his brothers, Gio and Piper, heal too. I truly believe Dolce sent him to us. 🪽🤍
