Our Director is selling her 2 horse trailer to raise funds for the rescues. We have three here right now that are needing medication/ additional rehab and support! ❤️‍🩹🐎

Circle J Royal XL 2 Horse Straight Load Trailer with Ramp.

This trailer is extra tall for Thorougbreds or Warmbloods and comfortably fit my 16.2hh 1,250lb Thoroughbred. I love this trailer for my hard to load horses as the ramp makes it super easy.

Has a large tack room that you can even put a cot in and lay down in. Also has a hay pod and ladder on top.

Middle divider can be opened to make one bigger compartment. Also have top small doors of wanting to fully enclose.

Recently repaired, back door was re-welded with a new hinge and ramp was reinforced.

Solid floors and good tires.
Lights and electrics all work.

Hey guys it’s $5 Friday and Jasi could use your help! ❤️‍🩹🙏🏻

When completing her evaluation we found she has a lot of discomfort when cinching which is very stereotypical behavior for a horse that has gastric ulcers. Kicking at the cinch or anything around their belly is one of the most common signs.

We are fundraising to purchase her some medication to treat these ulcers, so that they can heal, and she can feel comfortable and be ridden. The 30 day supply is just shy of $400, so that is our goal $5 or any amount is so appreciated and goes directly to providing her this medication to feel better!

Welcome to Second Sunrise, Jasmine! Jasmine was an owner surrender, and she is an 18-year-old appendix mare. She was previously from a kill pen, so we do not know a ton about her history, but she has definitely been used as a broodmare for a long time given her body confirmation. She is a beautiful light, floaty, mover, and is undergoing evaluations now! 🖤✨

Remy is one of those rare been there and done it all kind of mares everyone is looking for these days!
Remy was surrendered to us via an owner surrender but has previously been a ranch mare in Colorado.
She can be ridden English, Western, is a perfect trail horse.
She has been roped off of, has packed elk in the mountains, been a lesson horse and a husband horse.
She stands well and lets you groom, brush her without moving
She loads in the trailer perfectly and stands tied patiently and does not pull back.
She has been a good cow horse for most of her days and consequently has some arthritis in her front feet.
Our vet recommends she stay on a daily NSAID medication called Equioxx which is roughly $71/mn.
They hope that long term that could be cut in half or even used just on occasion for more strenuous rides.
Consequently, a life of being a child's horse or beginner pleasure horse would be perfect for her.
We do not think a showing home or one requiring strenuous activities like barrel racing etc would be suitable for her.
She also has a tendency to be a bit too much of an easy keeper and gains weight quickly on fresh grass making her more prone to foot tenderness.
We recommend she only be allowed out on grass when it's not at it's highest sugar content (Spring and Fall).
She would be perfect in a home where she could have a buddy and live in a dry lot/ stalled and turned out during winter and summer.
She has no stable vices and is a very good girl/ easy keeper besides that.
She is currently shod in front and is great for the farrier.
She is completely beginner friendly and spins, backs, and has all of the fancy buttons.
She has extensive experience working on a cattle ranch and is great around cows.
She would make a fantastic teacher for someone wanting to learn how to rope!
She one hand neck reins and can also direct rein.
She is a super fun mare to ride and just makes you smile and goes easily in a basic snaffle.
She loads and travels in the trailer, and stands tied like a dream.
You just have to think the direction you want to go and she will go there.
Stands well to be mounted and does not move off until you are ready to do so.
She is used to being mounted from the ground so we did introduce the mounting block to her and she took right too it.
She is great around dogs and does not kick out at them.
She is not mareish at all and comes up to you first.
She is not on any supplements, maintenance, or medication.
She is the same horse no matter which day you pull her out or how long you have left her in the field.
She is up to date on de worming, coggins, vaccinations, and hoof trims.
We think one family will be so lucky to have this lovely mare in their life!

We have heard from a few folks recently who are looking to sell their horses and did not know/ realize they needed a Bill of Sale.

We have created a blank copy one that you can use if you need to sell your horse that offers more protection than most.

It Includes:
- First Right of Refusal language
- Prohibited acts of sale - ex: Auctions, Sale Barns, raced as a racehorse again etc.

While having a current coggins is important on horses you own, it's also important when you purchase a horse as a coggins can be used in court to prove ownership, so have that in your name.

Just remember when you sell a horse you loose all ownership rights to that horse so be sure to explore other options like leasing, donating to a college, consignment programs, or to a rescue like ours to help you find a perfect home for your equine.

The gorgeous Remy is still looking for her forever home, she is one of the most well trained horses we have had through our program. From working cattle and packing elk in the Colorado mountains, to being a kids lesson horse, she can do it all! It is with a very heavy heart we had to say goodbye to Goldie on Friday afternoon.

Goldie was rescued from an auction back in January. When we got her home we found she had, (through X-rays) significant rotation of her coffin bone in her right front.

Thankfully we had a few great months with her where we took her to a play day, trail rides, and even used her in lessons. Unfortunately, in the last month she took a turn for the worse and sadly no amount of medicine, diet change, or corrective shoeing could get her comfortable. It eases my mind knowing she’s running pain free in the big pasture in the sky now. She touched the lives of many people and will be very missed.

This part of rescue never gets any easier, but sometimes the kindest thing we can do for these beautiful animals.

Run free sweet Goldie Girl, we love you💛💛💛

She is currently shod in front and is great for the farrier.

We think she would be happiest being a trail/ pleasure horse as she's not the fastest.
She has extensive experience working on a cattle ranch and is great around cows.

Sharkey and Goldie updates! We had to go back to the vet’s office for more medicine for Sharkey boy and he’s currently getting 10 shots a day of penicillin, banamine, and 20 mins of cold hosing twice a day but his leg has started to respond and is going down 👏 He also has started eating again which was worrying for me as he had dropped a lot of weight due to inappetence from the infection. He was even able to go for small walk today so please keep him in your thoughts and any amount helps towards his ever increasing veterinary bill. It’s currently at $535.58 ❤️‍🩹

Goldie is doing a lot better and hasn’t been lying down for extended periods since. Yesterday she got some arena turn out time and today she got to go outside for a while and move around. She even felt well enough to pick up her good hoof putting weight on the bad one so that is so promising! Long road ahead but we are going in the right direction!! ❤️‍🩹
