***SENSITIVE CONTENT***
Ava is a 6 week old kitten! She was found by a Good Samaritan in a neighborhood in Camden, de. When she was found, Ava was covered in fleas and ticks, along with maggots.
It is suspected that Ava was abandoned by her mother due to her condition. Her eyes were so infected that her left one had already began to rupture and her right eye wasn't too far behind.
We've been treating Ava's eyes and upper respiratory symptoms since 3 weeks of age. Her nasal discharge and congestion has resolved but I don't think we can do much more for her eyes. Her vet plans to preform an enucleation on her left eye in the next week or so. If her right eye doesn't continue to heal she will remove it as well.
Ava has not had any vaccines yet due to her age and condition.
Ava is FIV/FLP negative
Ava has been dewormed 2 times and has had 1 dose of revolution + for kittens
Ava currently weighs 1.9 pounds
Ava is a great eater and is working on liter training
Ava will be looking for a home following her procedure!
The money raised will hopefully cover her eye procedure, vaccines, and spay!
As always, any little bit helps💜

What a morning! Tayler’s home and already hard at work😤 Thanks to Bailey Home Services lots more trees are gone and after clean up the fence can go up! It’s gunna be a long week full of repairs and heavy lifting 💪🏼. It’s so nice having the other half of Open Arms Home❤️
Got to spend my birthday with Stewart! His new family had him castrated yesterday which meant lots of snuggles and “observation” today❤️
So fortunate that there are like minded people out there to adopt our rehabbed animals! So happy for stew and his new family. Couldn’t ask for a better way to spend my birthday!
I almost forgot! Minnie is a handmade stuffed animal now. If you’d like one reach out it to Jhm creations!!
Minnie was the inspiration for this collaboration with Open Arms Farm DE. 🩵🩵 oh how we love Minnie the blind cow 🩵🩵
We said goodbye to Stewart today! He joined his forever herd with a good friend of mine. It’s always hard saying goodbye to these animals, especially after caring for them at their lowest. I know stew will have the best life with his new family (Kayla Secoy) and I’ll always have my Jhm creations Stewart stuffy to love on.
We love you Stewart! Forever and ever!❤️
YALLLLLLLL. This camera in the run-in catches me at my worst….every. single. time. Tonight Minnie and Mick were eating their hay, being good cows (for once), while I cleaned their area and slipped. Right on my face. Lost my glasses and all. I looked up at the camera to see if my husband was looking at me and he has the nerve to say “what are you doing?”
If you zoom in on Minnie she is looking (haha) right in my direction probably wondering why I was crying in her poopies💩💛
Bestie girl had lunch with me today! Gloria is the biggest BABY. Her horns are crazy and so are those eyes. I’ve said it a million times and I’ll keep saying it, this cow is the best thing that’s ever happened to me💜
Minnie was MUNCHING on our walk around the back pasture tonight. (Featuring our big trash pile from the previous owners💃🏼). The last picture was right after she decided to chomp the dirt, then it was time to head inside with her little brother mickyyyyy ❤️🔥
Minnie hasn’t gotten out much this week due to the heat. It stays about 15-20 degrees cooler in her run-in. We have things for her to engage in but she LOVES grassy time.🌱
I have no idea how I got so lucky to have this opportunity to love these babies❤️ Gloria, Earl, Harvey, and Bart will be our last to come home in the fall🤞🏼 Until then they are keeping cool in the shade at The Little Farm!
These cows mean more to me than anything in this world. Everything we do is for them and their adopted siblings. If you’re interested in helping with their pasture please reach out to us! We will be starting the fund raising soon!
My shining star, Howie🫶🏼
He’s enjoying some hay this evening with his friends!
Happy 4th from some of the cutest babies in the USA🇺🇸♥️💙
Thank you so much Jhm creations for this beautiful art work! If you’re interested in supporting a small business and our rescue please reach out! Jess may or may not be able to make us more of these!
We focus on livestock animals at Open Arms, but recently someone surrendered this little guy and his siblings to us!
Unfortunately, I lost all 3 of his litter mates in less then 48 hours BUT this little guy has done nothing but grow stronger. Baby Timmy is going on ONE WEEK of life!
He currently has some pretty bad eye discharge but we’ve been addressing that with a veterinarian and keeping him nice and clean. He’s getting milk every 2-4 hours (depending on what he tells me to do). His urine and f***l matter is spot on and he’s gaining weight each and every day.
Timmy will be available for adoption in 8-10 weeks with his first round of vaccines covered (hopefully by donations). We’d also LOVE to cover the cost of his neuter for his new owners!
If you’re interested in Timmy or know someone looking for a fighter keep this baby in mind! For now , baby Timmy will continue to wake me up bright and early and scream my whole 40 minute drive to work because I can’t hold him❤️
On tonights episode of the two blind cows….minnie got me from the front while mick, somehow, simultaneously got me from the back, lifting me into the air. I feel like an acrobat.
Thanks for making feeding time and chore time exciting✨💥
Happy Fathers Day to the bestest dad to all of our rescues! Tayler is co-owner/founder of Open Arms Farm. He helped build the rescue we have and has given these animals so much love and comfort. Even though he’s now stationed in Texas for 4 years we decided to keep our herd here in Delaware. He comes back to see us every 6-8 weeks❤️
to when my babies were tiny!
What a huge milestone for our rescue! It truly takes a village and we couldn’t have done it without all of the donations and help from family + friends.
Our blind cows Minnie and Mick are home at the rescue! They’ve had the privilege of growing up at The Little Farm in Camden, De. Minnie has lived in the same stall for over two years, she came home to the same farm after her stays at New Bolton, it’s been her home. I met Mick for the first time at The Little Farm after his 2 week stay at New Bolton, it’s all he’s ever known.
Even though the big cows (Gloria, Earl, Harvey, and Bart) will reside at The Little Farm for just a while longer we finally have OVER HALF the herd home for good and couldn’t be more grateful.
To Tricia Hawryluk, thank you for introducing this life to me and giving me every opportunity to save everything I could. Thank you for opening your barn up to us and allowing me to practice my passion every single day. Without the opportunities you’ve given Tayler and I we wouldn’t have any what we do. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and so do all of our babies!
Our next steps for Minnie and Mick is to get their pasture built! Right now they have a roomie run-in, I’ll continue to take them on walks for now! And paint! We need to paint their run-in!
For the big moos, I’ll continue to visit them everyday at lunch for some love! We are hoping to raise more money to build their pasture in the fall. For right now I know they are safe where they are!
Again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. These animals are so lucky to have such a great support system ❤️
Minnie and Micks run-in is coming along! Huge shout for all the help from family and friends! Still a day or so worth of work to do but we are getting somewhere!
Sadie and Stewart are even helping us clear all the leaves❤️
All of the stuff we do for these rescues comes right from our pockets! We’ve been fortunate enough to raise $800 to put towards this project!
If you’re able to send over a couple of dollars anything is appreciated!

Sweet baby Moby VS really mean, wants to kill me Moby!
When we first rescued Moby he was so sick with cryptosporidium that we waited to castrate him. 3 months turned into 6 months, then a year and now it’s finally time. My sweet baby Moby will hopefully be sweet again without his manhood!
We decided to extend the offer to this Sunday as well! So many people have reached out looking for a spot! The 4pm has been booked ❤️
What a great first photo session at our rescue! We announced it last minute but boy was it a great turn out! Here are a few pictures from the day❤️
I had so much fun sharing our animals and their stories with these strangers. It meant so much to me. If you participated yesterday and still haven’t received pictures don’t worry they are coming! It takes a lot of work to go through and w**d out the “not so great” shots and then edit them.
Huge thank you to Frannie Louise photography for donating your time to help us raise money for our herd! We appreciate you😊
LAST MINUTE SIGN UPS! We still have time slots available for today:) Message me if you wanna get some pictures taken with some baby animals. All proceeds will be put towards building more pastures for our rescues!
Don’t forget to book with us for a last minute Mother’s Day shoot. All proceeds directly benefit our rescues!
We know times are tough for everyone right now, so we’ve decided to partner up with a local photographer to help encourage donations!
We will be hosting 15 minute mini sessions with our three littlest herd members, Cash (brown/white goat), Delilah (black lamb), and Stewart (white goat). Make time this Saturday ONLY (5/11/24) for some last minute spring pictures with some of the cutest critters in Delaware.
After your picture time is up, feel free to stick around and meet a few herd members, learn more about our rescue, and how you can help!
Each session will come with 5-8 professionally edited pictures by Frannie Louise photography. Payment is due at time of booking. Each 15 minute session will be $60. All proceeds will benefit our latest project here at the rescue! Check our page out for more info!

Minnie turns 2 years old on May 5th (tomorrow)! All we want for her birthday is to be able to bring her home, where she will live in sanctuary for the rest of her (hopefully) long long life.
Up until this point, Minnie and her brothers and sisters have been staying at a local farm that doubles as a mobile petting zoo. Last year we bought property to someday house our special herd and to continue to rescue/rehab other livestock critters. With the way the economy is we’ve quickly ran out of funding to build the perfect space for our members.
As many of you don’t know, my husband (and rescue partner) is in the Air Force. He’s currently stationed in Texas where he helps run a medical lab that serves other military members and their families. He’s able to come home and visit us for a week or so every 2-3 months. During his time home, we try our best to get as much done on our property as possible.
We decided to split our family up for the sake of the animals we have rescued and made a commitment too. These animals are our lives, they are our passion, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without each and every one of their stories.
Please help us get them home! Find all of the animals stories on our page.
Remember, every dollar helps, every like helps, every share HELPS!
If you can’t donate money, we are also accepting usable supplies or equipment!

For those of you whom don’t know, Minnie is blind. She did her due diligence to fight off these really dangerous monsters on our walk today. Seriously though she was having so much fun scratching and head butting these things. I think we will go back tomorrow for some more 🤺
This is my biggest baby! Whenever I see Gloria laying out in the pasture I stop what I’m doing to go get some big moo snuggles. I love snuggling up with her while she relaxes. Most of the time she rolls on her side so I can scratch her belly for her. So grateful to be living this dream💜
Merry Christmas from all these cuties to all of your cuties! All of our babies had Christmas cookies baked by grandma today and LOVED them for the most part. Gloria was the only one that spit hers out which was odd because normally she loves sweets. She snuggled up and gave lots of kisses afterwords though. Even though I spend time with the crew everyday I try to spend extra time with them on the holidays. Even though they don’t know it’s a special day, my day wouldn’t be complete without lots of snuggles and love from my little family. I know I say it a lot and it’s probably annoying but I’m so grateful to have the opportunity to rescue and raise these guys❤️
Spent some time with Mick today! He’s doing so well. he gets castrated on Friday and then hopefully that’s it for a very long time for him! Calendars should be in soon! Send me a message if you’re interested in purchasing one! I have cow print Christmas ornaments ready to go as well! Every cent that is raised goes directly towards the remainder of micks medical bills! It was super chilly today but I’m so grateful that my friends at Evergreen Farms let me set up a table full of goodies to raise some money for our rescues. Although it was a little slow I still really loved sharing some of our animals stories with the customers! Now I’m at home relaxing on the couch with my curly dogs❤️ All the cows and goats/sheep are tucked in for the night with lots of straw to keep them warm, unlimited hay and water. I’m feeling so grateful tonight for what I get to do! Thank you always for your support💕
We are all set up and ready to go over here at Evergreen Farms! Come shop for the perfect tree and visit me after you check out. All proceeds will be going towards what is left over of Mick’s hospital bills🧡 I have lots of yummy treats. Also preorder your 2024 calendar with me today, in person. I’ll give you a few more sneak peaks if ya want😉
Buy a treat at the bake sale this weekend Evergreen Farms and get a free Open Arms trading card! Some of the trading cards feature rescues that we have lost and some that are alive and thriving❤️ On the back of the cards you can find a short overview of their story! Featured in this post is our double chocolate fudge brownies! So good☺️☺️
Spent Thanksgiving Eve prepping for the bake sale this weekend at Evergreen Farms! If you’re wondering what to expects, we will have- Chocolate covered pretzels, Chocolate Fudge Brownies, Puppy Chow, Cinnamon Coffee Cake, Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies, Rice Krispie Treats, Peanut Butter Cookies, and special cake cookies that a friend of mine has perfected! For those of you who don’t have a sweet tooth I’m making mini charcuterie cups as well! Our 2024 Calendar will be on presale and I’ll have some special cow ornaments. Everything except the calendar will be hand made by me with exception to a few of the cookie selections!
I know I’ve posted a lot today but I can’t stop thinking about this sweet soul. Mick got to go out side for the first time yesterday and he couldn’t control his excitement. He at grass and took off running (on his lead rope). You could tell that he was afraid but finally trusted me enough to test the waters. Mick is awaiting some really important blood work results. Hopefully tomorrow we will know if all of the medication he’s been on has cured him of his pneumonia. Please keep him in your thoughts🧡
Everyone keep mick in your thoughts! We are heading to New Bolton for his recheck appointment tomorrow morning bright and early☀️
Mick was feeling REAL good this evening. This is his “begging for cookies” look🤠 We have to be super careful with Mick’s saliva, he’s currently testing positive for bovine TB. So to keep all of our other critters safe we are doing his chores last and not kissing him on the nose (which is really hard for me).
Very uncomfy Mick update!!! I figured it would be easier to follow as a video instead of a paragraph. Ignore all the “ums” and face touching! Mick is doing well as of right now. But he still needs our help.
