Working on off-leash recall with Nova and Madeline.
At this point in training, rather than them getting a treat every time they come, their reward is being able to run and play.

Once a pup is reliably succeeding at a certain cue, it’s important to move to something called “intermittent reinforcement,” which essentially means there’s no longer a treat every time . . . but there’s one often enough to keep your dog playing the lottery.

A video of me training my dog Nova in Halloween City last month. She is a 2 year old Labrador retriever/pitbull mix. I was working on her manners in public places. Making sure she walks on a loose leash and has a solid stay, regardless if I am long-distance or out of sight. Patience, repetition, and consistency 🐕‍🦺👌 #RuffToRegalK9
