I wrote this down during the whelping of our litter of Wire Fox puppies.

It's 2:30 in the morning and what am I d**g? Watching 8 beautiful puppies. I sit here listening to the sound of newborns nursing. The squeak they make when happy or frustration of not finding mom. No sight, no hearing just the instinct to find the warmth of mom and satisfaction that comes from a full belly of milk. So fragile, so small, yet they push more and more to be next to mom for the warmth she provides. Warmth necessary for their survival. Every hour that passes changes occur. Getting stronger, more resilient, more movement and more of those wonderful sounds that lets you know everything is ok. Life is fragile, life is challenging and sometime life seems unfair. But if we trust in our God given instincts tomorrow we will see. Yes I sit hear and watch our little miracles and thank the Creator that He blessed me with this watch!

Two weeks old and they are just starting to open their eyes, trying to get up on their feet and waddle walk, and just interested in finding mom and their next meal. 4 weeks old today and they are walking, playing with each other, running to us for additional feeding and just to be held. We hold each pup several times a day just to cuddle them and show them human love. You know what? They are already giving love back! We have the best jobs in the world!
