Intro Story

Courtney B. O’Connell, DVM, P.A. is a solo equine practice in the Ocala area based out of Reddick, Florida. Dr. Courtney O’Connell grew up showing hunters and assisted in her family’s small hunter breeding operation. She attended Mount Holyoke College where she was a member of the equestrian team before pursuing veterinary medicine at Cornell University.

After graduation Dr. O’Connell went to Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center for a one year intensive rotating internship. Following her internship, she worked at Miller and Associates.

Dr. O’Connell has always been interested in helping equine athletes feel and perform their best. Combing this with her interest in reproductive medicine, it is Dr. O’Connell’s goal to help her clients manage their horses throughout their lives and performance careers. In the summer of 2019 Dr. O’Connell has opened her own practice in the Ocala area focused on that mission.
