Who’s making deviled eggs for Labor Day cook outs?? 🙋🏼‍♀️. Anyone have any secret recipes? Or fancy add-ins? We have a Cajun-themed pool party this weekend, and I’m trying to think of a way to make my eggs on-theme.

Souper Pho & Banh Mi made some delicious creations with OUR fresh eggs. If you haven’t checked them out for lunch, dinner, or to just grab a boba drink- you need to go! It’s one of our favorites!!

The bees are in the trees! Nectar flow is on. Our bees favorite is the poplar tree. It gives our honey that amazing flavor similar to the famous tupelo honey. Tulip poplars are beautiful strong trees with big wide leaves and a tropical-looking orange and lime green flower. Look out for them in our area. They’re one of those local native treasures that we don’t even notice!

Today’s from-the-garden recipe is my new favorite. It tastes sinful. A velvety dip usually requires cheese or mayo or some other heavy fat to have a rich texture. But none of that here! Just roasted peppers, onions, and EGGPLANTS!

Crumble some feta and pour me some wine. I’m going innnnnn.

That’s a wrap, folks! First camping trip in the books! No one argued. No one cried. Minor blood was shed. All in all a great trip. Tonight we celebrated our successful maiden voyage with a delish dinner at the Deadrise before we towed the camper home.

Super big thanks to Shields and her daughter Chloe for being excellent homestead sitters. All the plants and animals stayed alive while we were gone! 🙂
