Ensuring a strong and reliable recall is crucial for the safety and well-being of our four-legged companions.
However, one aspect that is often overlooked is the importance of collar grabs. If your dog tends to duck or run away when you try to reach for their collar, it is vital to teach them to associate collar grabs with positive experiences. 🐾

Teach Your Dog "Leave It" with the Fun Helicopter Game!
Tired of jumpy greetings? This game is a lifesaver!
Here's how to play:
1️⃣ Be the Chopper! Hold a treat near your pup's nose, then slowly lower it.
2️⃣ Jump = Take Off! If your dog jumps, raise your hand (the helicopter) quickly!
3️⃣ Patience is Key! ⏱️ Wait for your dog to keep all 4 paws on the ground and not lunge at the treat.
4️⃣ Yes & Reward! Once they wait, say "Yes!" and give the treat.
5️⃣ Level Up! Gradually increase difficulty: distance, height, treat value.

Using a verbal marker with your dog/puppy can speed up your training! I always train with treats on hand but there is no way to deliver the treat at the exact moment our pup performs the behavior that we asked for. 🐶
Using a verbal marker (or clicker) bridges the gap between when the behavior occurs and the delivery of the treat! 🐾
