Freja did so well for her first in store private session! She has some trouble with reactivity towards people so we worked on redirecting her attention to us. She had a few surprise moments with dogs but recovered well and redirected her attention to me quickly. She has gotten so much better since we started training at the beginning of the summer.

Bessie and Monk have moved to the front yard! for their daily walk, we worked with them on leash manners with distractions, neutral behaviors around one another and ‘watch’.

Bessie saw some people when we were walking and this got a reaction out of her so we practiced redirecting attention away from them to break her focus. It became easier for her to look away from them as we practiced. Monk was a little anxious while working in the front yard so we got him moving and focused on Eli rather than on sister and his surroundings

Cosmo and Koko worked on socializing in public places! We worked on redirecting their excitable behavior while being exposed to new places and people at Michael's Arts and Crafts!

Sprout is working on confidence building with ‘place’. SInce she’s so small, she doesn’t always know how high she can jump. We practiced her putting her front paws on it and making that position. Then once she was comfortable with that, I began encouraging her to jump up. Once she knew she could do it, she was happily jumping all the way up and even offering me a sit.

Meet star! Star has had a rough start to life. She has very little life experience in cities. She was raised on a farm and bred for the first 2 years of her life. While she is comfortable around dogs, she is very wary of people and all of the noises we make. She came to her home earlier this year and has been making slow progress with opening up to her people. During our first session, we focused on building a relationship with me. I did this by pacing, sniffing and listening to her body language. Jackson and I went to the store for the first time together! He struggles with excitement around people and other dogs so we practiced calm behaviors after we sniffed our way through the garden center. Scout did awesome at Lowes! He was so engaged during our session. He struggled to give me attention with everything being so new so i gave him time to sniff and engage with the environment before asking for anything #balanceddogtrainer #balanceddogtraining #757dogs #757dogtrainer

Scout is working on seeing dogs and being more comfortable walking near them. We started by moving closer into Cosmo’s space and redirecting his attention away from him. He struggled at first but started following me as we continued to practice. #757dogtrainer #balanceddogtraining #757dogs

Jackson has started place! We started by getting him used to the cot. I threw treats on it to make it positive for him and then began to lure him onto the place. #balanceddogtraining #757dogtrainer #757dogs

Scout is killing it! Today we added an extra distraction with Eli & ollie working close by. We focused on place and redirecting his attention away from ollie. He even had 2 people approach him and while he showed a lot of interest, he stayed in his place. #balanceddogtraining #757dogtrainer #757dogs
