Researchers Say Pet Dogs Shed Light On Human Health

A large study aims to follow pet dogs for 10 years or longer to track how genes, diet, exercise and the environment affect aging. Researchers believe the findings may shed light on human health as well. The researchers in this study hope to better understand biological or environmental factors that may slow or prevent cognitive decline—and also think they may find similarities between dogs and humans that affect arthritis and heart function.
