If you are thinking about getting a puppy, I would be happy to help you find a reputable breeder. Please don’t fund these unethical puppy factories.
In one of the groups I manage, a great many people are buying their puppies from usda certified breeders, never realizing that high-volume breeders require USDA-certification, while small and face-to-face breeders don’t.
Although I would agree that the dog numbers that kick the legislation into play are too strict — the fact remains that pet store puppies come from USDA breeders, and USDA breeders are high volume breeding businesses.
Know where your dog comes from, and remember, your hard-earned dollars should be used to support causes you believe in, not to reward people with questionable ethics.
