I'm from Red Bluff CA, I'm 26, I've been here almost 6 years, and I rescue trap spay/neuter foster and adopt out our stray or feral feline companions. Funding is desperately needed as I've been entirely self funded up until this point. any sort of donations are greatly appreciated. I post fundraisers for veterinary expenses and Amazon or Walmart wish lists often. and there are several kittens or a

dult cats that I am trying to rehome and in the meantime I am attempting to cover expenses for these people that are stuck with these cats until adoption. wish list items generally go directly to them. and fundraiser donations for vet care go towards veterinary expenses for spay neuter vaccines and general vet Care for fosters. donations can be sent to:
Cash app: Kalima4444
Venmo: Kalima4444 ( #6328)
Chime via request
I'm working on getting a Paypal set up.

Feline Fact Friday - Do you know why STRAW is best for outdoor cat shelters?
--------
It's starting to cool down, so now is a great time to clean out those winter cat shelters. Make sure to completely empty the shelter of old straw and give the shelter a good wipe down.

‼️Remember - STRAW IS FOR STRAYS, HAY IS FOR HORSES

Please remember to ONLY USE STRAW. If a damp/wet cat goes into a shelter with a cat bed, towels, blankets, or hay, moisture is retained in those materials, which actually makes the cat colder.

Straw repels moisture and retains the cat's body temperature, keeping the cat dry and warm.

Thank you for keeping the community cats dry and warm in these cooler months.

Here's my take on cats status of free roaming..

I clearly understand both sides. Marjorie Palmer should not be luring cats into her yard with tuna. Cats are smart and they will make a habit of it because they're expecting tuna, so it defeats her purpose to use this method to deter them from her yard. She doesn't want them in her yard at all so she should deter with another more humane solution. We suggested motion water sprinklers. Same thing. The cats will remember the bad experience of getting sprayed with water and they will not want to go into her yard. I've spent a lot of time explaining this to her so I think she's on board. As for many who have seen the nasty side of cats not spayed/neutered and strays free roaming which is the current laws for cats. We're advocating more rules for them like dogs. Chipped, indoor cats are so much safer especially living in town. We would like to see the free roaming status upgraded for cats and cat owners with more responsibilities for their cats. In a nice way, we must know where our cats are just like our dogs, and children seriously. We would never let our puppy, or toddler out to roam , we need the same mindset for our cats. Out here at our ranch obviously we have the cats outdoor too. Is it a perfect and safe environment, 🤔. No. .but it's not always easy and we do the best we can to keep them safe. They're inside at night and that's huge most bad things happen in the night, predators etc. So in a broken 💔 world we do the best we can , let's just realize that our goal is safety first, and congeniality with our neighbors. Love you all 💞💞💞

I would like to announce that we will be having our first neuter clinic at forward Park for the homeless encampment starting at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday August 21st. Donations are appreciated. We are in need of towels cages and any monetary contributions as we are paying for the vet for the entire day out of our own pockets. Thank you to Angel Herrera for arranging all of this! 😁

Also a little update about kuruk. He was adopted by a family out in Paradise with a blind Kitty a diabetic Kitty and he is now the three-legged Kitty. He made it to the disabled family y'all! He found his forever home he was adopted almost immediately after being posted! Yay! I'm so proud of my little boy! 🥺😍

UPDATE 8/1 WE DID IT TEAM BECAUSE SULLY HAS BEEN ADOPTED ❤️❤️❤️ THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH AND THANK YOU SO SO MUCH ADOPTOR!!!

Happy life little buddy, you don't have to be afraid anymore!!!!

Little dog friends, go get Sully! Littles have a hard time in the scary overfull shelters! I definitely had to pick this baby up instead of walking him through kennel row, he was terrified 😭. Let's get Sully a home!

Sully is an approx 3 year old chihuahua (mix?) He's a little guy not sure of his weight but maybe 8 to 10lbs? You can size him in pictures. He's nervous there but very sweet and likes to be held. He is a great little leash walker and enjoyed his walk. He does know sit and maybe more but he was nervous. Sully is a sweet little guy who needs a forever home ASAP and out of the very scary shelter!

Sully is good with other dogs and has had multiple roomates. Unknown on cats but you can take him in the cat room, spending time with him I'll bet he doesn't care. He's good with all people.

Sully is at the Tehama County animal care center in Red Bluff, Ca.
