Starting this week off with a smoochable face... Adorable & adoptable PICNIC.

Picnic is a sweet and playful senior looking for his forever home! He's estimated to be around 8-9 but someone forgot to give him the memo. He doesn’t think he’s a day over 5. He still has plenty of energy for a game of fetch and is always excited to show off his love for toys. He carries his toys around the house and falls asleep with them in his mouth — it’s a MUST (Picnic told us to write that part).

Picnic would be happiest in a home where he could still enjoy some relaxing walks with his new family. He also understands not everyday is for exercise (right?!) and can turn it off for a long day of snuggles on the couch. He loves getting to sleep in bed with his humans (and a toy in mouth of course).

Picnic loves following his people around the house and will happily be by your side whether you’re making a cup of coffee or relaxing on the couch. He's friendly with kids, grown ups, and other dogs, making him an excellent family companion. While he loves watching cats with great curiosity, he’s always respectful of their space.
Picnic is a food LOVER and will cry at your feet while you eat simply because he doesn’t understand why you wouldn’t share with him (same, Picnic, same). If you leave food out, it's probably fair game.
He does have his dislikes (paw touching: stop that), but overall he's so sweet and a fan favorite because his tail never stops wagging.

Personal note from his foster family: he meshed with our family so well (2 cats + 1 dog) and we’ll miss him big time. Anyone would be lucky to have this VERY happy and loving boy in their home.

It's the longest day of the year, so there's plenty of time to post another amazing transformation and adoptable lil girl! This is Kaplan. When she first came to us, she was experiencing some major skin issues. Well, no more! Just check out her long luxurious locks now.. This sweet little lady is approximately 2 years old and has energy for days. She’s all bounce, fluff, and playful charm.
She lives for tennis balls and will happily chase them as long as you’re willing to throw them. Fetch is her favorite game (and yes—she knows how to bring it back like a pro). She’s got a real zest for life and would love an active home where she can get her zoomies out and then settle in for snuggles.
Despite her playful spirit, Kaplan has lovely house manners. She’s crate-trained and potty-trained. She’s always tuned in to her people—curious about what you’re doing, but never in a pushy way. Just a soft, sweet presence who likes to stay connected.
If you’re looking for a joyful, energetic companion who brings both fun and affection in equal measure, Kaplan is ready to play her way right into your heart.

Adorable & adoptable: Pascha. One of the incredible things about working in rescue is that you get to see the most AMAZING transformations! Pascha AKA Sasha Fierce had a rough beginning--not gonna dice any words--she was bald.. Naked and scared in the shelter her little face said to us, help me! Pascha has spent many months in foster care healing, growing fur back and finding her long lost playful personality. She doesn't even look like the same little girl! Pascha loves to snuggle and loves toys. She does fine in a crate or cuddled up in a dog bed. Siblings who are playful and up for tug of war would be her preference, but they need to understand the Sasha Fierce side that comes out when she's overwhelmed. In a previous life we think Pascha must have been an indoor only dog, she is potty pad trained and does not like to be outside walking on grass unless you are right by her side. This makes her a perfect apartment or condo dog who wants to pad train and leash walk. Our vets have estimated her age at 4, but she's still living her best puppy life. Unfortunately, due to her earlier neglect, she is heartworm positive, but that will be treated at CSRA expense at one of our partner vets. If you're looking for a little toe nibbler with sweet puppy dog eyes, she's your girl!

Adorable & adoptable: Jem. Look, they can't all be perfectly poised little princesses, ok? Sometimes what you get is a tiny little hurricane of fuzz hopped up on go-go juice and milkbones barrelling through your life. Jem is...not calm. She doesn't even know what that word means. But we really can't blame her--everything is so exciting and new--she's never lived in a house before--she didn't even know that was a thing! So, she's learning how to navigate as an actual member of a household--things like manners are a really new concept. She's certainly got the LOVING down pat, though. Jem is a bit of a velcro girl: always at your feet, its obvious she adores her people and its a world catastrophe if you ever leave her. Personal space is also not a thing she's familiar with (i.e. you will never visit the bathroom alone again). This applies to other doggos too. Running leaping over them and barking in their face to join in on any fun is her everyday normal. While this all sounds like A LOT, she has soooo many great qualities already, even aside from being a wild beauty. She's very affectionate and rides well in a car. It's just that at 3 years old Jem is still very much a puppy in energy, confidence and personality. She missed out on all those things other dogs learn in her first 3 years, so What she really needs is a compassionate (patient) family to show her the ropes. She's got all the makings of an amazing dog--she just needs the confidence and guidance to fully get there.

Adorable & adoptable: Sherbet. What a happy little girl! Sherbet is the sweetest--her tail just never stops wagging. She loves playing with toys and going on walks, but her absolute fave is cuddling with her person on the couch. This petite lil treat gets along great with other dogs AND cats! (she hasn't had a chance to hang out with any kids yet). She's got beauty AND brains--she's already got the basics like housetraining down and she's learning new things every day. We're trying not to gush here, but doesn't she sound just perfect?? Sherbet is 3 years old and she's looking for a family who offers the perfect amount of snuggles for a Snuggle Professional like herself.
