Important Announcement:
Paws is going to be closed for services here at Clinton Street. I think most people already know I've been on the hunt for a good size space to bring the business to while partnering with some friends of mine so we can provide a safe area for services for everyone's pups on a large scale. I'm excited to announce that I will be looking at some spots this upcoming week in our neighboring towns, and my intention is to have something locked down soon so we can start the process of getting everything on its way to being great there.

We'll be back after we re-locate and have everything in place ready to go. Looking forward to seeing everyone and welcoming a whole lot of new faces this spring-summer! Stay tuned for the updates and probably a whole lot of progress photos on IG as this new chapter starts 🐾

I haven't done a post regarding my March availability yet only because I don't have a whole lot of open dates for Boarding right now.

Unfortunately it's looking like I won't have anything until around the 22nd for this month. (We have a couple pups either here or coming in for longer stays this week.) I'm due to get my pet cpr and first aid recertification which I need to set aside adequate time for, and I'm also working on the Paws website in whatever free time I can find to accommodate the online booking. I apologize for any inconvenience, and I will be opening my APRIL Calendar early. 💕

If you are a new client looking for services welcome! I'll leave a link to my new client form below.

As some of you may know, there is an SPCA location down in Monroe CT that is closing at the end of the month and a lot of dogs and cats were at risk for being displaced. Thankfully, they have secured enough funds, enough volunteers, adopters, and several no-kill rescues in the area are also assisting with placement so there is no longer a euthanasia risk. I happened to notice a listing for a very cute rat terrier and quickly sent it over to a good friend and client of mine. I admittedly didn't read the full listing, this person just loves Rat Terriers the way I love Corgis and my Tiny Terriers and SURPRISE. 1 Rat Terrier turned into 2 Rat Terriers and Steve (thankfully) could not be more excited. These pups were found abandoned on the streets and are quite feral. They have become extremely bonded in the 2+ years they've been stuck in a shelter environment, and are being worked with by their favorite volunteers there before they join their new cow siblings up here in a couple weeks. I can't wait to meet these cuties and see them thrive in a real home.

The moral of this story is: If you're ever talking about rescuing with me in real life be careful because you may end up with more than 1 dog 😂

Every Friday I whip up some peanut butter dipped biscuits, and every Friday I never get a photo because they fly off the plate so fast. Maybe next week! 😂

If you see a person with a reactive dog help them out.
Cross the street or give them space.

If you've never had a leash reactive dog, congrats!
All breeds, all sizes and all age dogs can be leash reactive. These are not "bad dogs" or "untrained" dogs. They are simply dogs with some big feelings.
They may be scared of your dog, they may feel frustrated by their leash, they may be in pain, they may have a negative experience with seeing other dogs while out on leash.
These dogs need more space.
Help out by giving some space, stop throwing a ball until you are further away and if you are in a park or other public space where leashes are required, leash your dog.

Remember, dogs that have big feelings on their leash do not need punishment, no matter the breed or size.
They need to feel safe with the person on the other end of the leash and the people and dogs around them.
