Why?

Compassion fatigue, insurmountable debt, poor pay, verbal and mental abuse from clients, loss of beloved patients and I’m sure others that are not as commonly reported.

I post this recognizing vet med, of course, but mental health is such a sad and terrifying reality for all of us and any profession. So we post as a reminder to BE KIND to everyone you meet and if you can’t be kind, walk away. You never know what someone else is going through or what reality they are living in. Your smile and kindness may just be what turns their day around.

We are hiring for a part time or full time position in a mobile veterinary practice in the Rocky Mountains! Hourly rate of $26-29/hour based on experience. Other benefits to be discussed for serious inquiries only.

We are located in Summit County, Colorado and offer in-home, fear free care to canine and feline patients, only. We provide all wellness/preventative care, in house labs and x-ray, in house ultrasound, dental cleanings and elective surgical procedures.

We have drastically increased our quality of life in the veterinary field by seeing 6-8 appointments per day or a max of 2-3 if we have a procedure during the day. NO ER, NO holidays, NO overtime necessary and NO weekends!

My Girl.

It has been such a joy having this golden girl in my life. She is the definition of happiness. She's happy despite living in pain. She has horrid elbow dysplasia and has for a few years now and she is still thriving and staying strong.

Look at these gorgeous water bowls gifted to me by a client 😍 omg they are GORGEOUS….she’s so talented!!

First of all - I met Juliana Pickering Dahl in Jan, 2020 when she rushed into the clinic because her dog was experiencing all the signs of bloat and torsion (GDV). We rushed, prepped for surgery and Toby made a wonderful recovery that gave him Two more full years as an old man with his family.

Tragedy, fear and anxiety brought me friendship, loyal and Liesl (and one day Gus) in the end ☺️ Julie and I always chat on Facebook about trying to get together, meeting up for a beer, chatting about animals or her beautiful pottery…. And today, I finally got to see her again! It was like picking up with a childhood friend from old times and it was such a blessing!!!

I should add - she came from Fort Collins area to bring her baby to see me for a simple vaccine 😜 I’m in love with Liesl and the spark she brought to me today with her mama. Toby, my man, your sweet soul and good heart carry on 🤍

In need of a FULL TIME (32+ hours/week), Registered/Certified veterinary technician as part of our awesome mobile clinic practice. $25-32/hr depending on prior experience with benefits to be discussed (including RETENTION BONUS)!!
May also have housing available for ~$1400-1500/month that is animal friendly, in a cul de sac within a safe neighborhood with a yard, fully furnished and has solid landlords (details just need to be discussed with individual candidate)!!

We have a relaxed pace of life here at Passion Fur Paws with 6-8 appointments per day on the busy end. Our goal is to keep veterinary visits for patients low stress, comfortable and boost their confidence while creating relationships with their hoomans to provide the best care possible. This is one of our patient’s mouths. Hard to see this, isn’t it?

Imagine the discomfort, bacteria, possibility of other organ disease due to septicemia from this bacteria traveling throughout the body… dental disease is serious and your animal will not tell you they are in pain. They know no different…so they stop chewing, drool, have stinky breath, may not be interested in the same toys, may have blood-tinged saliva, etc.

Her mouth had 15 extractions and she did wonderfully. This family adopted her as a senior so they took the problem into their hands to help her out. 👏🏼

Preventative exams can allow us to monitor and get a look to know if a cleaning is warranted to keep up with your pets’ preventative health. Stay ahead of this if you can! We are here to help.

Cancer.

It sucks. There’s no other description for it.

No one says “cancer” without immediate feelings of sadness, pain, discomfort, body chills, PTSD, “oh sh*t” comments, or their gut in their throats.

It can act like anything. It can look like ANYTHING. If you’re not sure about something on your pet, PLEASE ASK! At the very least, we can set up a consult and discuss the options.

For those wondering —— these are both mast cell tumors. These are very common in dogs and can be angry and ugly like these and can also be a soft lump under haired skin. Don’t wait. Both of these beautiful kids got theirs removed with CLEAN MARGINS. 👏🏼 giving them more life with their families that they deserve!!!
