My qualifications include Advanced training in veterinary acupuncture, Chinese Veterinary Herbalist Certification, Veterinary Tui-Na Certification, Chinese Veterinary Food Therapy Certification, Veterinary Chiropractic Certification, Reikki level II training, and over 30 years experience in the veterinary field. In 2007, I graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine where I followed a mixed animal track. I served my first year post-graduation as an Associate veterinarian at a small animal emergency clinic in San Antonio, Texas. I have over 10 years experience in Integrative and Complimentary Veterinary Medicine, including 3 years of Veterinary Rehabilitation. Additional experience includes work in Research settings and Zoo, Wildlife, and Exotic Medicine. I am actively engaged in community service and have volunteered with the Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network, Turtle Island Restoration Network, Texas Seaport Museum Elissa Crew, International Service Learning for Medical Students, Sedgewick County Zoo, various spay-neuter organizations and wellness clinics including the Galveston Humane Society, Galveston County Community Emergency Response Team, Galveston County Medical Reserve Corps, Moody Gardens Hope Therapy Program, Moody Gardens Aquarium, We Are Change-San Antonio, and the March of Dimes.

Meet Hope. She sustained a back injury and was completely paralyzed a few months ago. She has been going to rehab for underwater treadmill and electric stimulation in addition to reiki and acupuncture. This is her today trying to stand after our session. And she's up for adoption ;P

Spotty was completely paralyzed in the rear end a month ago. His owners are doing an excellent job with rehab at home and he gets massage, chiropractic, and acupuncture weekly. Very happy with the progress.

Check your pet's dental health. February is dental month in the veterinary industry. Dental issues in our pets are very common!! Studies have shown that up to 70% of cats have dental disease by the age of 2 yrs. The numbers are similar for dogs. Dental disease is painful and contributes to systemic disease that affects their heart and kidneys and even increases insulin resistance.
