TIGER BALM 104374

14Y | MN | Owner Surrender | 9 lbs.

Hi there! My name is Tiger Balm and I'm diabetic. I'm very sweet during most social interactions, but I'm not a big fan when people are too hands on. I'll need an adopter who's experienced with this type of handling so I can safely have my blood sugar checked and receive insulin twice a day. With patience (and plenty of treats!) I hope to get more comfortable with these small parts of my day. That way I can show you how great a cuddler I am the rest of the day!

Progress Exam

Vet Notes: 11:11 AM

Hx diabetes mellitus, pt highly stressed by handling and blood draw even for glucose check, so we have been very limited in our ability to evaluate diabetic control. He has had extremely high BGs on recent readings, but I suspect that his BG goes up by several hundred points just by the blood draw attempt, so these are inaccurate.
Pt is eating well and is urinating a good amount (i.e. litter box no longer flooded) so he seems clinically comfortable.

S: Alert, mews and tolerates petting, but hisses when I do more than this.

Small donations add up. They all need shares and pledges to attract rescue, fosters and adopters. They cannot do this themselves. Their precious lives are literally in our hands.

Please be aware of this problem. Check bags and boxes. If you hear or see activity in a dumpster, check it out. Also, if you see an opossum who appears dead or was hit by a car, it may be a mama playing dead or if she is dead she may have live babies in her pouch.

PLEASE BE AWARE, DON'T DRIVE OVER BAGS IN THE ROAD!!!
This time of year, open all the plastic bags, insulated cardboard boxes met. When you see on the road a bag with the impression that it contains something, don't ride on it but stop by to check the content.
Open your ears and eyes on the edge of the ditches, waste, collective garbage, whether in town or in the countryside.
