Dwight is such a cool dog. He is so smart and picks up on new tricks easily. Oddly, he is not a fan of being outdoors. This pup would much rather hangout with you indoors than go for a long walk outside. He is still very young at a year old and is such a goofball!

Maple is a 6 month old hound mix puppy. Her most favorite thing is belly rubs! She has the velvety hound ears and the sweetest demeanor. She enjoys playing with other dogs and loves everyone she meets.

Hayley Bo Bayley, fee fi fo Fayley…such a good girl-ley. You need a home of your very own. Someone that loves to cuddle, and wants a couch potato partner.

🐶Hayley is a five year old beagle/heeler mix. She acts more beagle than she does heeler. She is always on the trail of some new smell. She is great at chasing down pesky pests, but sadly she also is not a fan cats. She lived with multiple dogs in her previous home, however, she does not seem to like any of the other dogs she has been introduced here at the shelter. With that being said, we think she could potentially live with other dogs depending upon the particular dog and given lots of time and patience to go slow with introductions. We don’t want to label her as needing to be the only dog in the home since we know that she CAN live with other dogs, it’s just going to be hard to find another dog that she will mesh with.

💕Hayley loves children and is such a sweet and gentle girl. She walks well on a leash and seems to have signs of once being house trained. She loves food and is super treat motivated. She knows some basic commands and is just an all around great dog!

Stetson is such a happy dog! He loves being close to his people and tagging along with whatever it is that you are doing.

His current favorites are his frog stuffed animal, any treat with chicken in it, and being loved on by the staff members.

He is just so stinking sweet! He makes this super adorable sound that almost sounds like purring when you rub the sides of his face. He is going to be someone’s “soul dog” for one lucky adopter. Could that be you?

Frisco and his emotional support ball. 😂 Every time we leash him up to go for a walk he runs to grab this Jolly Time ball. He is such a big goof and can be such a softie.

Meet our newest resident at ECHS, Stetson! We pulled him for our local animal control to help make some room for incoming strays. He is such a sweet boy that loves to be close to people, snuggle his stuffy toys, and eat chicken every chance he gets.

He is guessed to be a rat terrier mix of some kind and around 6+ years old. He was found as a stray so we do not know about his past, only that he is going to have the best future when his furever family finally finds him. Could that be you?

Yet again, an adopter has ghosted this sweet face before ever even meeting him. 😢 Please consider adding him to your family.

😔 🧳 Cookies and Cream had his bags all packed and ready to go, but sadly his adopter had to back out. This boy is still looking for his furever home.

Please help us find a family of his very own. He is such a sweet puppy. He is currently working on leash training, potty training, and socializing with other dogs. He is a total love bug that is very treat motivated and loves stuffie toys!

Cookies and Cream is approximately 5 months old and 20-25lbs. His mom was a catahoula/ret terrier mix, but dad is unknown. We guess that he will be a medium size fully grown.

Cowboy was sadly returned a second time. This time for being too strong on a leash. He needs an owner able and willing to leash train him. His last adopter said he was perfect in the house, she unfortunately just wasn’t strong enough to walk him on a leash. A fenced yard isn’t a requirement, but would definitely be beneficial for this guy.

😔 This cutie is so stressed at the shelter with all the other barking dogs. He desperately needs to find his furever home ASAP.

Cowboy is a medium sized dog that is such a loyal little love bug to his people. He gets so excited to see someone he knows and loves and will do a little dance to get you to notice him.

Cowboy does not like other dogs. But being forced to be in a room full of them all day long has really taken a toll on him. He is so scared and stressed and we are desperate to find him his perfect family.

Cowboy does seem to get along great with cats, however! He also likes older children that know how to be gentle with him and cuddle him, yet know when to give him his space when he needs it.

He was likely housetrained at some point in his four years of life before coming to the shelter, but of course we cannot guarantee he won’t have accidents. Even the most housetrained dog needs to be given patience and time to learn a new routine. Potential adopters should always expect some level of having to house train a new dog before applying.

Frisco, the lovable goofball with a smile that will brighten even the cloudiest of days and a physique that could rival an Olympic body builder! Frisco is a big ol’ meat head with a personality as cuddly as his brawny exterior. This playful pup is on the hunt for his very own toy dealer who can keep up with his boundless energy and addiction to all things balls (get your mind out of the gutter, we mean these —->⚽️🏀🏈🎾🏐😏)and that will always be there to give him endless butt scritches.

Frisco is also eager to be your dedicated shot-gun rider, always up for adventures and car rides. He’s an expert at face washing, and he’s here to add a splash of fun and a whole lot of love to your life. He needs a new mom or dad that will appreciate his skill for licking your face completely clean with his never ending kisses. If you’re looking for a joyful companion with a talent for making you laugh, Frisco is your guy!

Frisco is not a fan of other male dogs, and cats look like fun toys that he’d love to “play” 😳 with. Therefore, he needs a home without them. Meet and greets with potential female siblings are required to make sure they would get along ok.

Frisco has been going to dog training sessions to learn how to walk better on a leash and how to ignore the things that trigger him such as his nemeses, the aforementioned male dogs and cats. He needs an owner willing to continue with his ongoing training. Someone that sees this diamond in the rough for the truly awesome dog that he is!

Frisco has done well with all the children that he has met at the shelter, however, given his size, energy level, and propensity to throw his weight around without care for any and all in his path, we don’t recommend young children. Kids 10+ would probably be best.

Frisco is so fun and deserves a home of his very own. August is Clear the Shelters month and we are so excited to announce that a generous donor has fully sponsored his adoption fee! Update: So far, we have had no new cases in any of our other cats. 🤞And, the kitten that tested positive is doing excellent! We do still have 3 more days of quarantine left, so pray that we remain symptom free in the homestretch. 🙏
🐈🧹We still need new litterboxes, scoops, brooms and dust pans, toys, cat scratchers, cat trees etc. as we had to throw out these items as a precaution. We have been using a new disposable cardboard box as litter pans every day, and thus have gone through our stockpile of litter. We could really use some clumping cat litter.

📢 **Important Announcement** 📢

Dear friends and supporters,

Due to a recent positive case of Panleukopenia in a newly arrived kitten, we will be closing our shelter to the general public for a two-week quarantine period starting immediately. We want to reassure you that we are strictly following all protocols and taking every precaution to ensure the health and safety of our animals. Panleukopenia is a common virus in cats, and we have policies and procedures in place for an event such as this. Unfortunately, it's not a matter of "if", but a matter of "when" for just about any animal shelter, so we are thankfully well prepared.

Here’s what you need to know:

🔹 **Precautionary Measures:** We are using all safeguards recommended by our veterinarian to prevent any spread of the illness. The affected kitten is receiving the best care and is expected to make a full recovery.

🔹 **Current Status:** Fortunately, no other cats or kittens are showing any symptoms at this time, however, that is subject to change. If it does, the quarantine period will start over. Thankfully, Panleukopenia does not affect dogs.

🔹 **Adoptions and Intakes:**
- **Cats:** We are not accepting any new intakes or adopting out cats during this time.
- **Dogs:** Adoptions for dogs will continue by appointment only with an approved application since they are unaffected.

🔹 **Vaccinated Cats:** The cats currently in our shelter are vaccinated against Panleukopenia. However, we are still being extra careful to ensure their continued health.

As a result, we have had to toss out many of our items as part of standard protocol. We will need all new litterboxes, and had to toss out some of our cat trees, many cat toys, scratchers, and food bowls. If you are able to donate either some new items, RESCUE brand cleaner as we are going through this very quickly, or even monetarily to help with the kitten's vet bills, we would be so very appreciative.

We had 3 great adoptions today! Elfie (cat), Fudge (dog), Holiday (dog, picture not shown) have all found their forever homes before Christmas. It has been a crazy, but happy day!
