Our goal is to find homes for 100% of the adoptable animals that find their way to our shelter. The Humane Society of Macomb was chartered in the mid 1950's and the doors to the shelter officially opened in May of 1967. We were organized as a private, non-profit, charitable & private organization supported by individuals like you and by our own efforts of fund raising. We do not receive any govern

Our Story

We are a community resource focused on helping those who cannot speak for themselves. We provide humane care for unwanted, abused and injured animals. We work to prevent cruelty to animals and to place adoptable pets into good, permanent homes with responsible owners. We also make every effort to return stray animals turned into the shelter to their original owners and promote spay and neutering, to prevent overpopulation through education.
