Seriously... his name is Chimichanga and we LOVE it. 💙

Chimi is around 2 years old and is just a little nugget at around 50 pounds! He enjoys other dogs and would likely do well with a fur-sibling. He's never met kiddos so we're unsure how he would do, but we would love to schedule a meet and greet to find out!

Our lovely Lola got adopted today! 🎊🎉

She is going home to a doggy brother named Sanji, who was also adopted from us back in 2022! Lola has been us since January, making her one of our long-time dogs. We have loved watching her become brave over the past few months and we can't WAIT to see her be even braver in a home!

Good be great Lola!!! We love you! ❤️🏠

Yesterday, we had a LOVELY group of students from L'Anse Creuse Middle School South Student Council come visit us for a field trip! 🐕They spent their morning meeting a couple of our dogs, a few kittens, and our barn friends. They even handmade a ton of dog toys and donated them for our pups!

Here at the Humane Society of Macomb, we only use positive reinforcement training and fear free methods. 🙂 The shelter is a really scary and confusing place for most animals, so we like to help their stay be more comfortable by using positive interactions and rewarding the good behaviors! 🌟

Everyone's favorite boy! Benz recently hit ONE YEAR without a home to call his own. 🏠❤️

Benz came into our shelter back in May of 2023 as a stray at around 6 months old. We noticed quickly that Benz struggled a lot in the shelter and needed more attention than we could give him. One of our amazing fosters saw our pleas for him and opened up their spare room for our sweet boy to crash in. While we have LOVED watching him grow into the smart, sweet, and incredibly handsome young man that he is, we still can't understand why no one has fallen in love with him yet.

Benz is dog friendly🐶, kid friendly👧, smart🧠, and athletic🏃. He is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated!

WE ARE STILL LOOKING FOR A FOSTER FOR NEIL! He has over 80 shares and we still havent heard from ANYONE. PLEASE CONTINUE SHARING OUR BOY SO HE CAN GET BETTER!!!!

Thanks to our amazing supporters, we have officially raised ALL funds for Neil's hip dysplasia surgery!!!

However, his foster unfortunately had some life changes come up and it was too stressful for Neil, so he is safely back in our care at the shelter. This means that Neil cannot have his surgery until he is in a foster (or foster to adopt) home.
Here's a little bit about Neil;
👑Estimated around 1.5 years old, 50 pounds, Golden Retriever Mix
👑Needs to be the only fur-baby
👑No young kiddos (15+ please)
👑Fenced backyard recommended
👑Loves car rides!
👑Extremely loyal, loves to cuddle

Lola can hardly wait to meet her family. ❤️ Could it be you?

Lola is between 1-2 years old, weighing around 60 pounds. She is dog friendly and may do okay with cats after proper introductions. Lola is a shy girl that may require more than one meet and greet, but we promise she is worth the wait.

Happy Memorial Day from us and Merle! Merle is getting into the BBQ-mood by sporting her hot dog costume. 🌭🗽She hopes everyone is enjoying today and honoring those we've lost while serving our country. ❤️🤍💙

Merle is about a year old, weighing in around 50 pounds. She has been waiting to find her furever home since January. She told us that even though she loves her friends here, she's dying to try out sleeping on a couch! (Being adopted is #1 on her bucket list)
