We have a very special anouncement! Well, two actually.

First, Oatmeal has completed her second round of treatment for the FIP relapse! She had her bloodwork done and it looks purrfect! She is active and healthy and happy. Although she hasn’t regained full vision, she certainly has enough to enjoy playing with toys and get around just fine. She still has to complete an 84 day observation period to be in the clear, but we’re optimistic. She’ll also be on phenobarbital for the seizures she experienced initially for a few more months but the meds are working and she hasn’t had a seizure since she started the drugs.

Now for the second piece of news. Oatmeal’s foster family is keeping her furever! And not just her- they are keeping Ziggy, her best friend, as well! These two have become very bonded and we’re so happy they get to stay together. They are joining Chandler, a previous Furever Home alumni. We hope the three of them enjoy long, healthy lives together. We know their new family loves them dearly and we couldn’t hope for a better place!

Congratulation Oatmeal, Ziggy and Chandler! And a huge thank you to her new family for getting Oatmeal through the treatment and for opening your hearts and home to these special cats.

It seems Selena isn’t the only one that decided to be brave. Reese, the mini miracle wrapped up in fur, has decided he wanted to make sone friends too. This boy has been through so much, including surviving a bullet lodged in his spine. If anyone deserves a happily ever after, it’s him. Look at how far this boy has come!

We are thrilled to announce that Mac has found his Furever Home!

Mac now has two kitty siblings to romp and play with, one of which, Flower, was a previous Furever Home cat. He also has two human siblings who love him and his antics deeply.

Congratulations Mac! We are so happy for you and your new family!

A huge welcome to our newest sweet potato, Reese!

Reese is a very special little boy with a hero story. He had been shot and had a bullet lodged in his spine, malnourished, and had a serious skin infection. He was in really bad shape. But the amazing volunteers at Karnes County Humane Organization weren't going to let that deter them. They spent nine months nursing this baby back to health and it shows! He is now an active and happy little man and his fur has almost grown back completely. When Reese was able to travel, he traveled all the way from Texas to us due to his positive FIV and FeLV status.

We are so grateful for the love and patience they showered upon Reese and we promise him a happy life from this point forward.

A big welcome to our newest resident, Selena!

Selena is a shy little wee one, but oh so sweet! She’s between ten and twelve months old. And, in honor of the Olympics, she loves showing off her purrfect balance on the floor beam of her three legged stand while purring routine.

If you’ve been following us for a while you may remember the story of Jack. Two years ago (almost to the day) Jack escaped from a potential adopter in Baltimore an hour after his arrival. It was hot- really hot- and in a large apartment complex over an hour away from us. We spent 28 days searching for him. We were torn up from mosquitoes and poison ivy and sleep deprived from running back and forth in the middle of the night to let raccoons out of the trap. It was a horrible experience full of sweat, tears and an unbelievable feeling of helplessness. The apartment complex tore down our signs and put rat bait by our traps. Someone actually even stole the food we had left out for volunteers to bait the trap. But we had an amazing team! So many people stepped up to help and we couldn’t have done it without you.

Two years later and this fat, happy, lazy cat has zero remorse and is living his best life with the woman who had fostered him before. He has yet to apologize.

We are so grateful for our village.

Don’t ever give up.

Mouse is out of quarantine and didn’t waste any time checking everything out! A little confusion over the dogs and pig but he’s proven to be a very brave little boi. How sweet is this?!

Introducing our newest resident, Mouse!

This adorable petite little three year old boy is both FeLV and FIV positive. He is super sweet and very curious. He may be three years old, but he acts like a kitten. He’s playful, fun and adamently wants to meet the other cats.

He’s being fostered in Maryland.

Thought you guys were due for an Oatmeal update. She is doing well and has tons of energy again. She was at the vet today for bloodwork and this is verbatim what the vet said: Oatmeal looks fantastic. Her eyes are working together pupils constricting and dilating together. Her right eye is nearly normal. Left has evidence of viral assault and retinal detachment. But I'm so pleased !

We’re continuing on the GS treatment so not done yet, but it’s looking good!

I love my village! You guys made this happen!

Introducing our newest intake, Keyser!

Keyser is an adorable all black manx boy and just over a year old. He is confident, friendly, outgoing and just as sweet as can be. He's a solid cat, weighing in at 9 pounds! And he LOVES his catnip pickle.

He does have a wonky eye with limited to no vision, but his other eye works well and that's all he needs.

Someone explain to me why sweet little Miss Daisy isn’t getting any interest? She is an old soul in a young body. She is the perfect companion and does nothing wrong. She’s calm, laid back and an expert lap cuddler. Not to mention how beautiful she is.
