Just wanted to do a quick post to let you know if you’ve tried to reach me via my personal cell phone and I haven’t responded it’s not because I don’t love love you, it’s because the number is gone and contacts are lost. You can email at [email protected] or call the main line at 301.703.1674.

We are not doing open intakes at this time but still working behind the scenes. And we’re always here for support, advice, and whatever resources we can help you with.

We know this is a difficult time for many rescues, shelters and volunteers. We’re not gone, just had to pause some services. Thank you for supporting us and these very deserving souls.

Figgy Newton has been with us for exactly 6 months today. This beautiful, 5 year old girl, has had quite the glow up, from starving, heat stroke-ridden and sporting a massively infected glaucoma eye ball, to the silky and confident house panther that she is now. She’s such a sweetheart and a real cuddle bug, always wrapping herself around her foster mom on the couch to be as close as possible. If only the perfect adopters would come along and give her the happily ever after she so deserves. While we receive adoption applications every single day, looking for the perfect kitty companion, it seems something is causing these potential adopters to pass on Figgy. Figgy Newton is FeLV+ which means she was exposed to Feline Leukemia during her time outdoors. While this means Figgy needs to live in a home without other cats, unless they also happen to be FeLV+, it doesn’t mean that she is sick. Figgy has no symptoms of illness and is an all around healthy and happy girl! Kitties with FeLV can have a very good prognosis and live long, normal lives, indoors where they aren’t exposed to other illnesses that could compromise their immune system. We think adopting an FeLV+ cat is truly special and just like other special needs kitties, these cats deserve to have the same opportunities for an amazing family! Please help the gorgeous Figgy find her people by sharing this post and if you’re interested in adopting, complete an application on our website. 🖤🐈‍⬛

Oreo is a beautiful 10 month old long-haired tuxy kitten. Shes a petite ball of love.

She was trapped as part of a colony of kittens and cats in December. Oreo stood out immediately for her sweet disposition and affectionate demeanor. She had a terrible eye ulcer, but the ulcer healed quickly with meds (with just a slight bit of cloudiness still in her right eye).

Oreo is FeLV positive (feline leukemia). She is so far very healthy and energetic.

She loves affection from her humans and will jump up on 2 paws to rub against you for love.

She will make a sweet, quiet pet in the right home. She prefers a home without other cats (especially given her diagnosis), but would be fine with older kids.

Oreo has been spayed and vaccinated and comes with her rabies certificate and a microchip.

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than to post a love story!?!

We are thrilled to announce that Daisy is officially adopted! Cheers to her and her new mom! Daisy is one of the sweetest cats we’ve ever had in our program and it was always surprising that she had no interest. Guess it was just that the universe knew the purrfect match was out there and we just need to wait for her.

Congratulations on finding your Furever Home, sweet girl.

We are very excited to announce we’ve been chosen as a recipient of a Petfinder Foundation 2025 Cat Enrichment Grant! This will allow us to change your the foster rooms a bit by adding new perches, tunnels and cubbies.

Miley and Reese have been especially helpful in overall management decisions. Although the mouse flavored cat lick may have been a bit too much.

Yes, we know, it’s been a minute since we’ve posted anything. But we’re coming back with a doozy!!!

After almost a full year in our program Square, now named Oreo, is adopted!

We can’t even express how happy we are for Oreo and his new family. We could go on and on about what a perfect family this is for him, but this picture says more than we ever could!

This makes my heart happy.

Congratulations to Oreo for finding his Furever Home.

Update: Adopted!!!!

COURTESY POST -

How adorable is this girl!?!

Located in the Frederick MD area.

Bean is a 3-5 month old FeLV+ kitten found living in a groundhog burrow in Frederick, MD. During the polar vortex, Bean came inside and fell in love with chin scratches and belly rubs. She tested positive for FeLV+ through an ELISA and RealPCR test but is de-wormed and otherwise healthy. Bean wants to explore outside her small room but cannot safely do so in a busy home with unvaccinated kitties. Bean is looking for a safe, warm, loving forever home where she can enjoy roasting in sun patches and lounging in sinks. Bean’s caretakers are willing to pay for her rabies vaccine and spay as well as any other initial costs she may have, such as purchasing beds, toys, or pet supplies. Please contact Amanda Tapscott at [email protected] with any questions or interest in bringing Bean home.
